If you read the post I replied to then you will see I said unless he comes back much improved offensively. I’ve said several times I think he’s limited in skill, and the talent of the new guys will win out, but I’m over talking about it. At the end of the day none of us know how the minutes will be split and who will be relied on. Especially when projecting role players.

Wade has confirmed this already.

CJ Walker pushed back his UF official visit to Oct 12-14. Has he set one for LSU?

Also we are in as good of shape as we could hope for Watford, it will come down to the wire with us and Bama. I think the relationship Bill Armstrong has will win out.
I’ve seen a couple posts about how good of a spot we’re in for Watford. Where is that coming from? Alabama and Memphis seem to be his leaders.

It's more open than originally thought, and Alabama isn't much in it supposedly.

I know nothing of the situation but it seems from what I keep reading on here that if LSU is really good and Memphis is not, we become a huge player for Watford.

Does anyone have a visitor list for this weekend?

So one of the things that for those that have watched closely, CWW's attention to detail is what has already set him apart. When he was filling out his staff all of the assistants bring something different not just in their backgrounds and knowledge of the game but more importantly their recruiting areas and connections. When he brought Bill Armstrong in late, for those that do not know he had been on Andy Kennedy's staff a long time at Ole Miss. More about why this is important a little later.
Armstrong mainly last year worked on installing the base defense and getting the foundation for our press which will be used a lot more this year. He was brought in late so they made the decision very early on to have him focus on 2019 recruits and leave the fillers for the 2017 class and 2018 to the rest of the staff. Already it is paying off with Armstrong being the main guy from the start on Bishop our first commitment. Alabama has long been his leader its the instate program as well as they have guys from Birmingham that he grew up with already on the team and so I personally think they are his leader. With Memphis hiring Penny who has not only had guys from Birmingham play AAU for him but has also worked with Watford.
All 3 pitches are different to Watford. IMO he will be the best pro from this recruiting class and a sure fire Top 5 pick, no matter where he goes the NBA will come calling. With Alabama they are the hometown favorite that he is extremely familiar with both in staff and number of visits, as well as Avery selling him on his NBA credentials. Penny's career speaks for itself in how he can help him in the NBA, and his pitch is much like the Kentucky's, recent Duke classes, or UCLA's of the world Watford would be joining a super class/team at Memphis which is what this Memphis class will be.
LSU's pitch is different its a culture, family, and you are the guy in our class pitch. Where Bill Armstrong comes into play, Armstrong's father was a longtime hs coach in the Birmingham area and is still very well known. Andy Kennedy played/coached at UAB, Bill Armstrong again has been only focused on the 2019 class and this is the big name and the same pitch to Watford has always been the same. This is Armstrong's "area" kind of like how the football guys break it up.
Little bit about Watford the minute he steps on any campus a coach will be drooling he is extremely unselfish, play hard at both ends and is extremely smart. He can easily play 1-4 and will. Best comparison I can give is think Jayson Tatum just not as good a shooter yet but a better inside game and a better rebounder than Tatum. LSU is losing Reid and probably Waters. Watford cna slide in and fit those roles seamlessly. We are in a great spot because everything CWW has said he has either delivered on or over achieved. Recruiting is no different as others said how each of these 3 programs look in the non conference will go a long way in deciding.
I happen to think we have a pretty good team and foundation to sell. Does not hurt Watford I believe wants to be the guy.

Billy on 247 said he believes he’s a 4 year player or close to it. He might be a little bit of a tweeter, but he will be perfect for the 3/4 swing man Wade wants

I got you. It’s just a little soon ya know.
And to answer the question, yes, we now have another spot in the 2019 class.

Anyone want to take a guess at who we finish this class with at this point in time? Hard to tell how many we are even looking to take imo.
Posted on 10/1/18 at 7:41 am to Palm Beach Tiger
Payne, Watford, Quinones and a JUCO wing is probably their ideal finish. They don’t even know how many they are taking this year tho. Have to see what smart and Williams do, there’s a scenario where we end up signing 6-7 guys.
