Who?
KBW and Edwards are seniors. They're gone. It's hard to imagine Reid not leaving, and I think Waters has already made up his mind that he's leaving after this season...regardless of what scouts may advise.
Certainly E. Williams is a possibility, but IMO he might be a bit of a 'tweener right now. I don't know if he's quite tall enough to be sought after in the first round to be a just a defense and rebounding guy, and I don't know if he has the perimeter offensive skill yet to warrant a first round pick. He may be a two year guy two allow him to develop offensively.
Are you thinking Smart? Because while I think he will be very good, I'm just not seeing a sure-fire first rounder yet.

This time last year, nobody expected us to lose Kiir, Sampson, Rachal & Alexander.
Wade just has a way of managing a roster, and if you cant contribute and arent fully bought in, you're gone. Now sure, maybe every single player does buy in, chances are there might be 1 link that goes missing though and I dont think you cant count that out at all.
This is ignoring the potential of Smart or Williams also thinking about going pro beyond the expectation of Reid and Waters leaving.

I didn’t count Edwards because whatever minutes he gets this year won’t be much, so it’s not like you are really looking for a replacement. For the most part, Mays, Smart and Kingsby will all get more minutes without waters and Bishop will get the 10 mpg that’s left. You don’t HAVE to get another guard this year

Yeah, before his OV there, we were as good as gold with him. Now it’s not looking good. We’ll still get an OV, so who knows. But on the bright side, the staff feels really good about Trendon Watford. Still a long way to go with him though.

Darryl will get solid minutes. Way more than Kingsby for sure. Wade has repeat praised Darryl this offseason for his work to add to his game. I expect him to be the primary backup to Taylor at the 3 and to get minutes at the 2 when we go big.

Daryl Edwards will play a good bit of minutes this year for sure
Posted on 9/20/18 at 2:16 pm to thunderbird1100
He played 22 mpg last year before adding smart who will consume most of the bench 1-2 mins and Taylor who will start at the 3. They are also playing Sims a lot more at the 3 now. I just don’t see any more than 10mpg a game max, unless he comes back and proves he could be better a more effective scorer. Edwards is what he is, an undersized hustle player. Not much upside there
Throw in Emmit Williams probably playing a few minutes here and there at the 3 as well

Taylor wont play but like 20 minutes a game maybe, Edwards will definitely play a good bit, I expect 15-20 a game at least. Wade has talked him up big time recently.

Waters 30 mpg
Mays 25 mpg
Smart 20 mpg
Taylor 20 mpg
That’s 95 min out of 120 between the 1-3. The rest of the time is spilt between Kignsby Sims, Edwards and possibly Williams. If they really do want to get bigger at the 3, the minutes won’t be there

I don’t put much stock in the Miami prediction at this point. He has already visited Miami and I know for a fact that he is extremely close to Emmitt Williams whom will be his host when he visits LSU in October. Let’s say Miami leds until Walker makes his official LSU visit the week of the Georgia football game. My understanding is that the players will be rolling out the red carpet big time for him.

Do we get his last visit? He’s already visited Miami and he visits Oregon this weekend and Florida next weekend. That leaves us and Arizona out of his top five.

Doesn't work exactly this way, because some guys play some games and not others, and vice versa. For instance you could have a guy average 7 minutes a game for the season, but only played 21 out of 32 games, and those 11 games played doesnt affect him.
For instance, there's exactly 200 minutes a game to played by players (unless overtime). If you add up last year's average minutes played per game over everyone, you get almost 230 minutes per game. Again, due to the fact you have guys who missed some games, which doesnt hurt the stats minutes per game.
Ex. Marshall Graves played 5 minutes per game, but only appeared in 14 games.
Each game is different, in the end I fully expect 15-20 on average out of Edwards, again, all you have to listen to is Wade talk the kid up pretty recently.

Avery Anderson committed to Oklahoma state Tuesday. We were his leader at one point.

Yeah....In one interview, he mentioned something about Edwards coming out on top one particular day with whatever point system they use in practice. That’s the gist of it. Feel free to correct me on specifics.

That's true. But 3 of those 4 guys were Jones holdovers and evidently (besides Sampson) frickups. Outside of Mays and Sims, everyone on the team was brought in by Wade. Perhaps some of the JC guys could decide to leave, but I think everyone brought in kind of new the lay of the land when they signed. Wade didn't have that luxury last season. He just had to get guys who could play

Do you really not get my point? I’m talking about how many minutes I think each guys average in games that matter. I’m not factoring in a walk on playing clean up duty against Mcneese.
Wade has been taking up several guys this summer, doesn’t mean everyone of them will be worthy of 20 mpg during the season. This is just my opinion, but we will see.

See post above where Wade mentioned Edward's was winning his "points" system this offseason, he's going to reward that.

Sims at playing any 3.

I’m assuming you ment “ain’t”

Correct, Wade said he was the best competitor on the team, consistently earned more points than anyone else. Points are earned weight room, drills (individual and team), among others
