Losing out on Washington was a really stupid move

We had a stud who wanted to come here, but we were more interested in star chasing and it bit us in the arse. He would have been a great fit, too. Going in on a guy like Goodrich who was a long shot over a sure thing and someone IMO who will be just as good is going to hurt down the road.

this isn't a regime that seems to quite think things through or has much of a clear plan...You have an action and then they react to the ramifications of that action and try to pivot once it fails

That's exactly the case.

We could have lost Brennan last year when we offered Tua who we knew was never coming here.

I think it's incredible people don't complain even more than they do about what Ed O envisions the LSU offense being. dude decides what he wants the program running depending on his flavor red bull. thankfully he landed on the stale 1990s twice fired "one of us" edition of the offense.

Yeah that is my point. I have said the entire time that not taking him when we could have was a mistake. Goodrich is from Raytown, Missouri. Have any of you been there? It's a shite "suburb" of Kansas City. The football played in that area is weak as shite. He may do great, but Washington was a playmaker at a school known for producing talent, in a state known for producing talent. Why pass on a hometown stud for a dude that was maybe 10% coming here?

was just texting a few baws how coaching circles are appreciating this staff taking over 8 commits that weren't even commitable offers and pulling the rug from them

I totally agree. I don't see why we pursue kids in Missouri and Florida when we have damn good players in Louisiana who would love to play for LSU. It is just stupid.

people just naturally assume the staff isn't so grossly incompetent to the point they'd let a solid recruit walk right out the door unless the knew with absolute certainty we were upgraded. However, today we learned the stupidity of Ed Orgeron has no bounds

LMFAO! I'm still fine with it. I haven't seen anything out of Washington to suggest he is capable of winning a starting position at LSU. Look at all the returning freshmen who played last season that still have 2 more years to play. Instead of giving a scholly to Washington, I'd rather save it and give it out next season. Next season's recruiting class is deep and talented. There's several CB who are better than Surtain and Cook in next years class, not to mention better than Washington.

Isn't Washington a safety anyway?

Surtain draws comparisons to Pat Peterson as a generational CB recruit

But there’s severa better next year
