Everyone keeps projecting Beckwith at DE but I just dont see him as that big. I would be looking for a DE to be in the 6'3"plus and 245 - 260 lbs. This year will tell the tale I guess and see where he progresses to size wise...
Both our starting DE are 245 lbs or less, and both entered college at 220 or less. If Beckwith is really the 6'3", 228 he's listed at on Rivals (or even close), he's right on cue for a LSU DE.

Yeah, but his speed is more in line with our starting TEs, not our starting DEs. There is a huge difference between entering LSU as a fast undersized DE versus a slow (or average) undersized DE.

So you'd rather have a slow LB? If he's slow for DE(which he's not) then he's definitely slow for LB. Size isn't his issue at either position, his fluidity in space is. He struggles at LB playing in space. He shows flashes but is not consistently good in that area. He's a downhill kid and in our defense that means DE or MLB. His size is fine imo. Little short(little less than 6'2 without shoes) but solid bulk and will add more. He's very similar to Lewis Neal in size(different body types) but is more athletic. We will always have a spot for Beckwith in this class unless something extraordinary happens and probably then as well.

I just don't see a high school coach having that much control over a upperclassman. Fournette should be able to make his own decision. If he really wanted to go to Salmen to get away from his new staff, then why would he listen to them.

We don't know what exactly happened. It could be a transfer issue. Sometimes transfers have are not eligible. Who knows?

Or it could just as likely have been BS from the start. Like you said, who knows?

I was being sarcastic. everyone was flipping out a few weeks ago thinking CRutch was going to make sure he went to Bama's camp and not ours, when in reality, hew was going to come to ours the whole time

If Prevot and Williams commit I'm not so sure Beckwith would hold a spot in this class. The numbers are getting tighter by the week. M. Jones looks like our future ILB. Would love to have him but sooner or later someone is going to get left out of this class--seems like too many good ones want to be a "tiger".

beckwith has a spot. my guess is there are about 3 commits that we could let go and make a spot for others. probably 2 current commits won't sign with LSU for one reason or another.
