You can't be serious can you? You are clueless if you think TM was a highly sought after player. He pretty much was a nobody.

He blew up at a camp before his senior year. He committed to us before his senior year so no one really pressed hard because he was ALL LSU....it would have been a feable waste of time.

Repeat, he was a 4 star.....if he would have left his recruitment open, he would have been on ALL radars....

I dare you to find a 4 star who isn't committed that isn't sought after....trust me, TM7 got calls from everyone...he just told em they were wasting their time...

Dude I think you need to go back and look at TM7's video where he said (Paraphrasing),"I thought I was better than those guys." He was referring to the fact that there was no offer from Tennessee when he went to their camp. Also, no Bama offer although Burton Burns (Former St. Aug coach) is there. I just read a recent article that states Frank Wilson had to convince CLM to offer TM7 b/c Frank thought TM7 made a lot of plays. Rivals initially had TM7 as a 3* and bumped him late in the process. TM7 'WAS NOT' highly recruited as you have said and if it was not for FW he would not have been offered by LSU.

I could have sworn Mathieu committed to LSU before Frank was even hired.

ETA: I was right. Mathieu committed in July of '09. Wilson came to LSU in December of that year. It seems there's been a lot of revisionist history in media lately about Mathieu's recruitment.

I'm glad that this board has come around to appreciate a guy like Lewis Neal...leading up to his commitment most people on here were bitching about us taking the guy but it seems as if most are finally starting to realize that he will be a beast...I can't wait to see what he can do for LSU

He went to Tenn camp after his JUNIOR year....LSU offered right after and he jumped on it and was vocal about being solid.....there was no push for him because he didn't allow it....he was ALL LSU his senior year and HIS PLAY bumped him to a 4 star.....if not committed to LSU, after his senior year he would have been heavily recruited....STFU and go look at other 4 star seniors that are uncommitted....look what happens after their senior year and getting bumped up!!

It seems you're too DENSE to realize that in the game of recruiting idc if TM7 was solid as a d*^# that don't mean college recruiters would not have come after him. He was solid b/c he did not have no offer that compared to LSU so why take the chance and play around knowing the staff may pull the offer? That would be completely stupid on his part. If you mean to tell me: Fla International, Hampton, La. Monroe, Miami (OH), SMU, Southern Miss, and Tulane is 'Highly Recruited' then you're crazy as Hec. No way am I knocking TM7 (cuz he represents where I'm from) but the fact is he was not highly recruited and undersized much how Neal is but what it means is didly squat. If you got 'Heart' then size doesn't matter.

Calm down there buddy. Arguments like this are based off opinion and speculation. Do you really wanna be this guy?

I might be thinking of another recruit, but didn't Neal just dominate at a camp this summer? I thought I remember reading that. I really don't think height is an issue as long as he has speed and a little strength he should be just fine

You are misinformed.

Correct that TM7 did not get a UT offer when he camped there, despite Wilson's pleas with Coach O and Kiffin. But the Rivals staff that was on site there called him the best player in attendance, and shortly after that made him a 4* and the #1 "cover corner" on their individual skills rankings.

Correct that he did not get a Bama offer, but again Burns went heavily to bat for him and Saban didn't think he was big enough (he's more strict about measurables for particular positions).

Incorrect that Frank had to convince Les to take Mathieu. Mathieu committed months before Frank was hired.

When a NOLA kid commits to LSU, other schools know it's pretty much over, and they don't bother anymore. Don't confuse "not highly recruited" with "not highly regarded."
