Watching both announcements, Lee was ecstatic to announce he was going LSU. However, Ish and his family didn't look to be enjoying his announcement at all. It made me thing they were doing something they weren't so proud of.

Yeah it was strange. You'd think $250k and a Charger would be enough to get you excited.

You think top recruits really get that kind of money these days?

Absolutely.

But I think Saban took him more to keep him away from LSU.
Saban has said himself, he builds a team to defeat LSU.
That’s a fact.

Down vote all you want but I remember when Saban said it.

The family looked VERY uncomfortable. Almost disdainful. Left me wanting no part of them.

I really wish we had signed him. We needed him more than Bama, by a mile and he would be an upgrade from some of our talent. He won't be for them.

Secondly, if your going to go out on a limb and say I'm a package deal ONLY. And, LSU extends that olive branch to the family and he signs with Bama anyhow knowing his brother isn't playing at Bama next year. Well......I guess your brother wasn't that important to you afterall was he?

Seems to be a question of character if you ask me. TIGER BAIT.

Definitely felt dirty. The note that he read where he was trying to give some assurance or rationalization felt awkward. The guy behind him (I guess it was his dad?) putting his hand on his shoulder when he was announcing, as if to give him the strength and courage that he needed to go though with it, was also very weird.

There may be more to this than meets the eye.

There was a poster on here earlier in the week suggesting that Surtain was coerced into signing with Bama.

LINK

Sopsher seemed to give off a similar vibe.

We all accuse Bama of Chargers and $$$ but what if they find ways to blackmail recruits or their family members too?

I don’t know why, but I was impressed w/ Lee’s tweets announcing the time of his signing. Just seemed like a nice kid, very polite, respectful.

And I’d say that if he’d signed w/ Kentucky.

Eh, he seemed nervous and simply not someone comfortable with public speaking. That’s all I got from it.

They learned that schtick from watching Landon Collins/Gerald Willis’ mother.

Don't care whether he struggled with the decision or not. The second that decision is "gump" I could give a shite about him or his future. I care about the ones that are with me!

That's my point, they were all head down about this. It wasn't about not selecting LSU.

Landon Colins still goes down as the most classic of all time! Hands down the mother says she wants her son at LSU. Incredible

Well. he and his family spurns the state, the governor, and the flagship school. They're not going to feel real comfortable. You could see the pressure on him when his family starts putting their hands all over him and taking deep breaths while he's speaking.

Perhaps the Barber ought to make the announcements for those that do Bama in the future. Would be more transparent.

Exactly. I couldn't care less about him. If he never plays, if he plays, if he gets injured who cares. He isn't here so he's nowhere. And the way he and his family handled the whole thing was pretty classless. He didn't give a shite about his brother in the end.
