Sorry, i Guess I should have said: Good QBs (as in 1st Round NFL type QBs in 3-4 years) want to go to school with coaches that will do the following.
quote:

Rohan Davey
Matt Mauck
These 2 were under Saban. They have no part in why a current QB recruit would want to go to LSU under Les Miles

JaMarcus Russell
Matt Flynn
Let's be honest. Neither of these guys are all Pro. Neither are Petrino's QBs, but Petrino has consistently had top QBs where ever he goes. From the late 80s - present, his teams have had really good QB for the most part.

Petrino has been doing these since the early 90s as an OC and Head Coach. He isnt limited to Brohm

Go ahead and roll out that lengthy list of impressive QBs.

Petrino and Mike Leach could battle to the death over producing great college QBs that do shite nothing afterwards.

Didn't a Miles QB recently beat out a Petrino QB for 2nd string of the Packers?

Yeah, but he said "let's be honest" that Flynn hasn't done anything.

I'm still looking for a Petrino QB that has gone anywhere after college. I can't think of one.

I thought the point of this thread was to talk about Kiehl Frazier, not a argument between Miles and Petrino...I'm a LSU Fan, offensively Petrino>Miles as coaching... recruiting tho Miles>Petrino... credibility Miles>Petrino... many things make up a coach...but this thread is about Frazier, not them two

yes. Does that mean anything really? For every one decent QB Miles has put out (1-3 string), im sure Petrino has more than equaled.

Answer me this. Who passes it more often, all things equal? Who has a better passing offense? Better total offense?

That is all I am getting at. I am not denying the fact that teams with winning records (ie LSU, Miami,Florida) dont get 4-5* QBs all the time, because they do. But just because you get a 4-5* Qb, that doesnt make you a great QB school, it makes you a great QB recruiting school.

you are correct. It got into a tangent about which place does a QB want to go:

1) A school that will win 8-9 games regardless of their contributions, ie handing off, not throwing alot
2)To a school that has a great offensive coach that has some of the best offenses in their league and nation on a consistent basis, where they are the centerpoint for the offense.

I just stated that good QB (one with great NFL potential) will usually choose #2. Which was the basis for my argument.

well FWIW Brandon Allen(Fayetteville QB) and Kiehl Frazier(Shiloh QB) are pretty close. I remember reading once that Kiehl liked the idea of playing with Brandon. Though I think Auburn under Malzahn would be a better fit for him. Malzahn is the coach recruiting Kiehl. He knows the coaching staffs at Shiloh, Springdale, and Har-Ber quite well and visits them at times. So I'm sure he has talked to Kiehl a lot already.

Allen is committed to us now. Frazier even came to campus last week with some of our other top Jr recruits. He lives 15 minutes from the U of A field.

You think Malzahn will stay at Auburn next season? He has already been asked about Head Coaching vacnacies this year, and another solid OC year, he should get more big time offers. I dont see him at AU in 2 years

Yes. He goes to the school Malzahn was coach at. They still use Malzahns playbook. But the NFL doesnt.

Yes I do realize this. I live in Springdale so I'm aware of the situation and how far the campus is. I have gone to Shiloh games and seen Kiehl play. He is not a Petrino mold for a QB. Kiehl right now has poor footwork, doesnt progress through reads, and a few times this year his arm strength was questionable. Also note that he is playing against teams they destroy on a weekly basis. Shiloh shouldnt be in that classification they should move up, but they dont.

The question of will Malzahn be there in the future is up to him. Right now he is the OC at Auburn. In the future that might change, but Kiehl is a QB that Malzahn likes in his system.

But they havve done more than Petrino's QBs have in the NFL.

And we'll see what happens when Mallett leaves after this year. Not too many folks are scared of a guy who cant take snaps from under center, a basketball player who wasn't even offered his home state school or a true freshman.

That certainly hasn't been the case. Miles has had no problem signing big time QBs.

he won the "Gus Malzahn Award" from his HS fwiw..he absolutely loves Gus and his program and I think we're the team to beat here...I've spoken with the kid myself and he seems to be leaning towards us
