Where is the LB talk coming from?

He’s 6’3 190lbs...that’s Myles B freshman size. He’s not putting on 40lbs to play LB

Sounds like he might end up at Georgia Tech, not the worst landing spot. I think Collins is building something solid there.

Our current safeties have little range. Why would we process him?

He’s a tweener and we got Davis and Langlois late. Gee is a good player but our safety class is now stacked

In a 3-4 as an outside rushing LB, sure

In a 4-3, good luck

3 star RB from NO area that is committed to Notre Dame. Word on the board is possible move to the LB spot for LSU
247 lists him as 6'0" & 195 lbs. for linebacker. If thats correct, I'd rather not.

That's from old measurements. A rummel buddy of mine said he's about 210 right now. Similar size and explosiveness to Queen coming out of high school.

It’s amazing how reluctant people are to accept the modern linebacker.

They’re still stuck 15 years ago when you would take a defensive end have him cut weight and let him meet a fullback in the A gap.

That’s not the reality of today’s game. These guys have to cover and they have to do it very well. It’s a lot easier to add 20 pounds to a 200 lbs safety than it is to cut 20 lbs from 240 lb bruiser and teach him how to guard someone like Kyle Pitts.

Right.

A lot of the great LBs come in 205-210 & add good weight

shite most positions on defense are like this now, outside of some of the truly great athletes that just mature faster. Like Dylan Moses, for example

Jabril Cox fits the mold of modern LB and he’s 6’3 233....48lbs more than Gee

Height and Weight when got to campus

Patrick Queen 6’1 210
Jacob Phillips 6’3 228
Micah Baskerville 6’2 215
Damone Clark 6’3 218
Micheal divinity 6’2 220
Devin white 6’1 248

I’d say those are modern LBs LSU has recruited the past few years.

My point is asking a 6’3 185 safety to play LB is a big ask. Then expecting him to put on +30lbs and keep his speed and quickness??? Is it unheard of, no. But some of you acting like this is common or routine.
