Rivals has Bech no. 10 in Louisiana.

Coleman isn’t in the top 25

Wrong. My analysis is based on the fact that I've seen him play multiple times in both sports. As far as I know coach O has never been to a game

"what makes them better" the film take a look and you will be able to tell - they are not saying that he is not good they are watching the film and you can see who is better. LSU is loaded at WR so we can cherry pick at that position in or out of state

Langlois kid from Pointe Coupee blanketed him when they played and he's not close to an SEC caliber DB

247 has Langlois higher than Bech

Terrace Marshall is 6'4 and was our worst starting WR last year (obviously a great player still).

Well yea, but he was hurt for a good part of the year. If he had played the whole season he would have been a very very big part of the WR core.

Coleman has been under the radar because he is at a small school and hasn't camped.

I have done high school football games for the radio in the area Coleman lives for many years. The buzz on him locally has been very high since he was a freshman. I have been hearing from lots of folks around here that Coleman is a special talent who can play college football or basketball at a high level.

I think it is clear Coleman is way better his rankings. I think he has SEC and LSU talent and if he were at STM like Bech would be more well known.

Now is Coleman better than other receivers on LSUs board? I am not qualified to know that, I haven't seen the other players in action.

I do think it fair to say Coleman is an under that radar guy who might turn out better than some rated. Its not just the metrics, the kid is a gifted athlete. Coaches around here will tell you that.

Yep, some may forget before he got hurt him Chase and Jefferson were almost identical in catches.

I’ve covered his games in football and basketball.

He’s good. I’m not criticizing him.

But he’s not under the radar. He’s a four-star on 247 with over 30 offers.

You suggested Bech was better because he was ten in La and Coleman not in top 25.

Coleman's offer list alone should have him top ten. Coleman is finally being noticed and his offer list reflects that. A few months ago he was almost completely unknown and he has only recently shot up the rankings.

If you have seen him play, I am sure you would agree he is a top ten player in La. College coaches must think so so with his offer list.

Bech would average 35 ypc vs OC’s schedule

They havent offered a number of receivers yet because we have 2 elite guys on board and now most of the attention is turned to securing the top 2 guys in the state which are unquestionably Thomas and Hilton. If we cant secure both of them, you'll start to see more offers go out, getting quality WRs wont be a problem one way or the other.

Coleman doesnt have an offer right now because he's pretty unpolished. Great size, fantastic athlete, but has a ways to go in terms of getting totally polished up as a football wide receiver. That's not to say he cant be be elite down the road, he has all the tools, but right now we have the luxury to be ultra selective until going to the next tier of receivers. Coleman's tape is basically him just catching bombs against nobodies, but you definitely see the potential there.

Not having camps is so rough to properly evaluate all players right now. If a guy like Coleman, Johnson, Bech came to a camp and looked pretty close to Hilton or Thomas in the staff eye's they would probably get an offer.

Coleman is going to get discounted because he plays at a school that's produced one D1 player (a RB with like 5 career carries at ULL) since the early 90s. And only like 3 since the mid 80s.

I’m not knocking Class A ball

But like the OP touts his guy and Maximus does the same with his, I’m confident in my opinion too.

Yeah, if only we would’ve offered Etienne earlier, we wouldn’t have had to “settle” for a running back that just went in the 1st round of the NFL draft.

We offered him earlier than Clemson did. He was butthurt about it and he figured he’d go where it was easier to win a championship. It worked out for everyone involved.

He also would not have Holstein or Howard throwing to him. There is no division one quarterbacks at OC

Really felt great to beat Clemson with him as their starting RB for the national title.

His excuse for not coming here never made any sense when Clemson offered him after we did.

Still does not explain why he at least does not have an offer.

Check out his twitter. Has a lot of videos of him running routes. While I dont know much about route running, I do know about hand/eye and ability to catch, and he is very much a natural ball catcher.

Pretty damn impressive for a guy that juggles 3 sports at a small school that probably has limited amenities (say compared to St Thomas More).

I respect Gabe Brooks, but he’s a Texas guy.

I give greater credence to Sam’s opinion (especially if it coincides with mine )
