Thanks. I really like to see a defensive prospect play qb. Shows their true athletic abilities. Some of our greatest ball players played qb in hs. (See laron Landry, spencer ware, early Doucet, Corey Webster too I believe)

.I will enjoy watching KB along with Melvin Jones in P&
These two and Brazil, Diarse & Trev White are all high school QB's that are coming in to play different positions. All of them are the best football player on their teams.

I want to thank the poster I played rec football my son played Highschool and was all district two years. He , my son knows alot more then I do constantly tells me things.
I coached baketball and one thing I learned was that anyone that plays beyond highschool usually has alot more knowledge and ability then the previous level.

I've never seen a kid take over a game like that in high school in my entire life.
My junior year, we got matched up against Jared Mitchell and Westgate. We hadn't lost a game all season and were allowing 10 ppg. He single-handedly beat us and they put up 30+ on us. Pretty spectacular to watch.

They're good as long as they don't run into anyone strong and physical and can make a living running the ball i.e. Parkview Baptist, Notre Dame. But they're a matchup problem with their skill players.

Skyler Green had some great playoff games as a running QB at L.W. Higgins High School. I remember people talking about Jarvis and Jason's little cousin running wild in The Dome.
I worked up a list of LSU players that were high school QB's going back to Kevin Faulk.
Kevin Faulk
Damian James
Jerel Myers
Corey Webster
Adrian Mayes
Joseph Addai
Shyrone Carey
Michael Clayton
Ronnie Prude
Laron Landry
Craig Davis
Early Doucet
Jai Eugense
Ron Brooks
Rueben Randle
Spencer Ware
Morris Claiborne
Terrance Magee
Russell Shepard
Paul Turner
Ronald Martin
There are probably others. Any that anyone can think of?

Thanks gotygers. I've been around a lot of good football minds and have learned a lot about scouting and the recruiting process. I have always enjoyed the development of players and wanted to be a coach. Unfortunately I wanted to live in one place for a long time lol. That typically doesn't do we'll with coaching. Lol

Played against Skyler Green. Everyone knew the ball wasn't leaving his hands and still couldn't stop him.

I remember refereeing one of his games... then the next night working a shaw game.... and wondering how good shaw would have been with both he and the crew they had at the time...
or how good higgins would have been...

Sounds like our game against Brazil earlier this year. Singlehandedly hung our only loss of the season on us. Looks like in the only game they lost this year he didn't carry the ball very many times. Back to OP, my kids have played against some good players, and Beckwith as a freshman QB was one of the most impressive. Not as fast as Brazil obviously, but really quick, very elusive, and tough to bring down. Remember meeting his Dad after the game and being shocked he was only a freshman, as he looked pretty physically mature even then.
