Hopefully NIL is a little more organized and we can allocate money to the appropriate positions of need and start getting some of these guys. This recruiting class gives me hope that we have figured a few things out..

So essentially we made the right choice not overspending on guys to have little to no impact

How is our run defense up the middle?

All of the big runs we give up are from lbs getting caught flowing with motion and some sort of counter ran against the motion for the most part. The lbs are out of position and the safety whiffs

Stats are misleading with DTs.

So how is our defensive line doing?

I saw Nolan wrecking havoc for oke
Miss and “causing” plays for other players. These stats are bs. Keep trying to make yourself feel better and dont think we would not take any of these dudes rn in a heartbeat.

All I’m doing is putting stats up of the guys that we were going after. I actually wanted them,

This went over your head.

Our DL isn’t the issue at all. It’s the LBs and DBs creating the problems.

Ehhh, I don’t think that’s quite true. I think the DTs are mediocre, and they are getting moved around a lot. If we had a Mike Brockers or Logan in there, along with a healthy Guillory, we would be way better on defense.

I know it’s asking a lot for a Mike Brockers, but that’s what it takes to play championship football. We have the linebackers, imo. Add two significant DTs and one great corner to go with Zy and Stamps, and we’re playing championship defense.

this defense is 1-2 botched plays from being extremely respectable

a really good DT may have made a couple of those plays, because good DT are disruptive,

simultaneously idk if any of those plays were made because our DT fricked up.

The DTs have been ok. The DEs have been better than anyone expected. The wild inconsistency at LB and Safety have been the biggest issues. If you look at most of the big run plays, it’s a bad run fit or missed assignment and/or a blown tackle that set it off.

First, LB is a major issue. Penn has always been slow and Whit Weeks, while talented, still makes mistakes out there. And now Perkins may be moving around and out of the middle. Hopefully West Weeks is back soon, because we lack both depth and consistency at LB.

We all know the DTs are just average, but what do you want to pay for- a series of one year rentals that may buy you the DL at FSU, great on paper but shite on the field, every couple of years? Or would you rather have recruits that Bo Davis says are his guys who are here for 3-4 years? The later takes longer, but it will also last since we are now paying real money for players that earn it once they get here. I’ll take the later 100 times out of 100.

If a Wingo is out there who has real interest and is coming in with years to play, by all means spend the money in the portal. If it’s for a one year rental asking well above market value for what they have actually produced on the field, no thanks.
