He is legit fast. He will be one of the fastest in LA and maybe the country this year
BUT
Split time with a running start is WAY different than a 200 m race with a start in blocks from the gun. You can in no way compare a 21 split to 20.?? Out of the blocks. Light years difference

Yep. A running start is worth 0.7.-1.0s. The fastest electronically recorded 4x100m split is 8.70, while only Bolt has run under 9.60 out of blocks.
Plus you have to factor in that a large number of high school coaches don't know where to take splits from and that taking splits manually is imprecise by nature.
Very fast, but not elite. It doesn't really matter though. Jerry Rice didn't have elite speed. Neither does Michael Thomas.

He’s in the mold of Bama’s current receivers, which is something we’ve been lacking. Track level speed.
DJ Chark was as fast or faster than any Bama receiver we played. I think he is faster than Boutte too, DJ ran an 11.19 100 meters. I am not sure what Boutte runs now, it used to be in the high 11s.
But he’s fast for sure, a great get. And then there is football speed we will have to see. Some guys run better in pads than others. Boutte sounds like he has speed and skills.

Yup. Gonna need all of Brennan’s arm to hit these guys in stride

For track retards like myself, how does 21.02 compare to olympic level runners or some other comparison to put it in perspective.
I know a 100M below 11 is flying.
It's a relay so splits are much faster. This would probably translate to around a 22sec open 200m which is fast but nothing incredible. I'm guessing the guy he was running against wasn't used to indoor or was their weakest runner and they hoped they'd have a big enough lead to hang on.

Brennan will be at Mcneese or ULM by the time Boutte hits campus.

So Brennan transfers this season? Or transfers when the window is open when Burrow is gone?
He’s the heir apparent.

That’s correct but also 200 meters indoors is much slower than outdoors since your running more “curve” indoors since the track is smaller.

Covered more than half of his games last season for the paper.
He’s an outstanding young man.

Chark had elite straight line speed, but he wasn't Waddle. Waddle had that quickness (and stop and go ability) that is actually much more dangerous than sprinting as fast as possible.
Schwartz, Auburn RB/WR, is considered the fastest man in college football. Has ran a 10.07m not wind aided. When you watch him on the field, he doesn't look anywhere near that kind of speed. His agility is below average and even when has has sprinted for a big gain it never looked Trindon Holliday or Tyreek Hill fast.
De'anthony Thomas ran a 10.31 100m in college, yet in the 40 at the combine he ran a 4.50.
Fournette, in his longest run as a rookie, topped the fastest mph of any rusher (22.05 mph) and was 0.12 off the leading player overall that year.
Boutte is going to be the best WR once he is starting at LSU.

He reminds me of Brandon cooks with his smaller stature and speed. His size is perfect for receiver. My favorite player in recruiting class.

if Brennan ever starts for lsu that will be coach O's last year, He'll be run out of town. He doesn't have the frame to start in the SEC.

Boutte is in New York City to run in the indoor nationals.

Damn, that was crazy fast. Gained 25+ yards on their anchor guy on a 400 yard sprint!
I hate to correct you but he did not do that in a 400yd span. That was indoor and I think it is closer to sucking up 25 yards in under 200. Track people chime in but that was sickening

As I read it, he finished in the top 8 qualifiers and advanced to the finals tomorrow.
