It's all bullshite. These players are the same players they have always been. No more no less. 247, Rivals, Scout etc all have to do stuff to continue to get people to go their website, satisfy their advertisers by generating so many hits to their sites, stay relevant in the conversation and indulge in their own self importance. If they continue to raise players, lower players, comment on players it keeps people coming and paying attention to their over hyped crap.

I mean, Clemson hasn't finished higher than the 8th or 9th in team rankings the last 4 years (depends on what service of course) and look at the players they have and what they did this season. These services are operated by people who are not very good at evaluating players. They mostly look at a kids offer list.

Kardell is #1 OG in Rivals and #2 in Espn300. So why the huge drop in 247. Such BS but Kardell basically marketed himself and switched to Rivals bowl game. They obviously have a bias towards him for these reasons.

I'm not saying he did well, but he also won OL MVP at a rivals 5-star challenge this past summer.
A guy that good shouldn't be outside the Top 250 players in the country. Nothing changed with Kardell I know of the last few years, he's been literally the same weight and player.
Think about this, 247 even ranked KArdell a Top 15 player in the country just a year and a half ago, now we're to believe the dude isn't even Top 250 after a TWO HUNDRED spot drop since a few weeks ago? C'mon man

Like I said above, I think Kardell's omission may be a mistake, as 247 still has his rating higher than other guards that are listed. Let's see if they do a correction or if they lower their evaluation for him. Right now, it doesn't add up.

None of this is worth the paper it's written on or the time to be remotely upset. It's all marketing, politics and arse kissing between certain parties.

I think this is fair to say...there are exceptions, of course.
But look where a few of our signees/commits were ranked a year ago, and look where they're ranked now:
Kardell - high 5-star, one of the top players nationally...now ranked as the 269th prospect.
Palmer - was a high 4-star...now a mid-level 4-star.
Davis - was a high 4-star...now a mid-level 4-star.
Starks - was a 5-star initially and the top ILB overall...now a low-to-mid 4-star.
Hampton - was .97-something initially...now a low-to-mid 4-star.
So, there are 268 college football prospects in 2019 that are better than Kardell Thomas. Both Palmer and Davis had been great in their senior seasons and/or the all star games - they both drop. Starks was the top ILB prospect nationally - he's now behind bama commit Harris for top ILB in the state. Hampton's athleticism has been on display and has wowed us in at least a couple of clips in the past few months - he continues to drop.

I get exactly what you're saying and agree he was bad but Rivals was there as well and they didn't drop him out if the top 250. He was somewhere around 70 before give or take and he was so bad that he falls completely out of the too 247? So we're they correct before or is one bad showing that important to knock him completely out?
I'm not suscriber to these rankings being exact or even a factor but got giving my money to support a brand this egregious in putting out bad product is a choice I choose not to make anymore. It's just ridiculous.

And here's the thing, some will use these same rankings to say who has the best talent.
Watch the games, trust your eyes, look at what scouts and experts say; but don't use these BS rankings as the answer.
Our guys will have every opportunity to showcase their talents. Some will surprise and some will disappoint. It always works that way. The key is to get some difference makers and to get a good overall roster. That's what it takes to win.

I remember seeing A video that went viral of Kardell destroying kids at a camp. This was a year ago or so. He was supposed to be one of the top olinemen for sure. Kids on my facebook who have no ties to LSU we’re sharing the vid.

They were saying Siaki Ika was one of the best DTs in the bowl practices, and yet he drops? 
If you can't see the blatantly obvious bias in these rankings, then you're just blind. And it's obviously not just Ika. How does a team go from 3rd to 6th from just these updates? It's bull shite.

You ever wonder which fanbases have the largest number of members on these recruiting sites and therefore give them the most money?
Even if they start out trying to be fair and balanced, in the end it all comes down to money.
Clemson does not have as many members as Alabama. So even though they have proven to be the more talented team on the field - they never were and probably never will be ranked ahead of them in recruiting. Unless their membership increases.
