Eventually, he transferred to the FCS level to play for Bo Pelini at Youngstown State and, finally healthy in 2019, he became a breakout star. Last year, he recorded 42 tackles and 12.5 sacks.

Went to Florida but eventually ended up at Youngstown state with pelini. NCAA granted him a 7th year of eligibility. Said he’d be interested in following him here. Just something to keep an eye on maybe?

Same recruiting class as Leonard Fournette and Myles Garrett.

LSU currently has a glut of bodies at that position, but nobody really proven.

I'm all for bringing him in using one of the unused schollies if Bo thinks he can make an immediate impact. I expect some attrition after spring at that position.

I watched his highlights and he didn't look that great to me.

Can't hurt. We have the spots and he'll know Pelini's system. At very least he'd provide experienced depth and help in the film room with his teammates.

No...just...no. He has no ceiling left, is injury prone, and has major questions if he could even compete at this level. He's also not in a current position of need. LSU's line is pretty stacked especially with the incoming freshman. Shelvin did not leave early which is the biggest and best player on the line. I'd rather save the spot for next class than hand it out to someone like this. Or find a LB/C. I'd wait to see what else becomes available the next few months. There's no reason to rush handing a ship out right now when the portal is about to be filled up.

I'm sure Pelini knows whether or not he can compete at this level. If Pelini says to bring him on, then you do it.

Not sure if he is saying that though.

You can never have too much veteran leadership in the locker room. Adding a 36 year old player could help with that.

Is michael williams still on the team? I don't really see why LSU would rush a guy like this when they have a loaded freshman class coming in with still shelvin/logan/farrell on the roster too. I think the ship would be better used in a position of clear need like C. They have plenty of guys who have been in the system for awhile they just don't have a lot of experience yet. DL is not exactly a need they just need game experience. The line before last season looked like it was going to be a problem this upcoming season but it has leveled out nicely.

This. Not sure the discussion needs to even go beyond this

He's still a walk-on I believe. He's taking care of some personal stuff and will try to earn a scholarship this Spring/Summer.

We have several open spots. This guy would take up a scholarship for one year. We have the room.

You can never have too much OL or DL depth. That is how you win championships. Having a guy that knows Pelini's system would just help the guys around him get ready faster too.

Look, I don't want him over some stud transfer with several years left to play. However, we have several spots and a mature guy with a big body that has experience in the system just seems logical.

Again, I'm sure Pelini knows him pretty damn well. So if he thinks he can play for LSU, he can play for LSU.

Never seen the kid play a snap. I just know there is no proven, difference maker at that position heading into spring.

I'd save the spot for next year.
Load up early

Think o finally realizes you take the sure 21 or 22.
Took him 3 years and he finally learned
