Long way to go. He could easily be a guy we see come back into the fold down the road. Clemson, FSU, and Florida are ones to watch here. UF is really close by

Need to stop using the word "commitment" in recruiting entirely. The word is utterly meaningless. Just come up with categories, e.g. "strongly favoring," "favoring," "considering," etc.

This is a great idea. We should flip this around and state that LSU has an athletic scholarship COMMITTED to Justin Watkins once he has committed to LSU. If that status changes, the player has a commitable OFFER just like many others do. The current trend of flip-flopping will only get worse. The schools meed to re-claim the power and there is one sure way to distinguish committed from interested/leaning. Are they still visiting other schools? If so, don't put that kid on your committed list. Which kids get the media attention? Do player's rankings drop after they commit?

The current system sucks and something needs to be done to change it. These kids are becoming celebrities at 15-16 and why would we expect them to have the maturity to handle that. It's the "Kardashian effect" playing out in recruiting.

And I obviously hate the motherfricking Kardashians.

I just think it's way to early for these kids to commit. I think it should be after a kids Jr summer camp circuit if they wanted to commit. I don't know the kid so the whole attention thing is a limb I don't want to climb on. I just think it's to big and tough of a decision to make so early.

Why would you even let a person commit that early.

I just decided I'm shopping at Super 1 instead of Albertsons in February 2 years from now. This early commit crap is stupid.

I'll start getting excited about 2018 kids around December of 2017... Commitments do not mean anything to these kids these days.

If he comes to LSU, cool... If not, cool.

People are so quick to not believe the negative publicity from Edwards shouldn't affect a young recruit, but it is not helping. We may know better but some of these kids don't.

Hasn't it been reported this is why? It's just not a good look for our program. He should have never used LSU football as a scare tactic for political reasons. It was wrong when he singled out the football team.

With only 23 months to go, I think we're running out of time.

How and why do people still get shocked when a kid de-committs when he is still 1-3 years away. I expect no one to stay committed to anything that far away. these kids are playing games and everyone takes it so serious. We'll get the recruits we are meant to get when it's time.
