This isn't the greatest start to the Alabama week, but it is just like the little bastard to the east to convince the kid commit THIS week.

This is why I try to worry about it and just see what signing day looks like. Seems like our insiders don’t know shite until it’s actually been decided and then everyone knows

Get tired of hearing “LSU is the team to beat and we like where we sit “ only to see us lose out

We can always use the portal as well but it’d be nice to get a guy 3 years

Saban has a way of convincing kids to sit the bench for 2-3 years. It’s crazy

Perhaps it is essentially guaranteeing them they will in a national championship, and if they are good enough to eventually play, make it to the NFL.

I don't like it as much as the next guy, but their results speak for themselves.

247 has us warm for 5* QB Jadyn Davis

FWIW, this kid is absolutely FILTHY. I usually rag on people on this board for doing the thing where once it looks like we’re going to lose out on a big target they immediately start claiming that some other guy was actually better all along, so I’m not gonna pretend like losing out on sayin isn’t a huge deal… but it’s been a while that I’ve been wondering why I’m not hearing more about our recruitment of Jadyn Davis. Saw clips of him for the first time about a year ago and have been 100% all-in ever since.

If Julian sayin projects to be similar to baker mayfield as a college player (and I mean that as a genuine and significant compliment—college baker was incredible), then Davis is Kyler Murray. That’s the level of talent we’re talking about with this kid. Might take a bit more time/effort to coax it out of him than with sayin, but this kid’s ceiling simply does not exist.

Now, I’m not sure where we stand with him or if we’re even in the running at this point… but if we did manage to work our way into the conversation with him, this would NOT be a mere “consolation prize”. Seriously—if you don’t know about him, go watch some clips ASAP.

Edit: frick my arse he’s getting crystal balls to Michigan just within the past 24hrs lol

I think Saban recruits guys that we are after just to screw us over so we don’t get them.

Thought getting this kid on campus would be a turning point for our recruiting. Major heartbreak here. Hope he gets some reps so Perkins gets to rock him

let's be honest, Saban will never retire unless he gets diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia. The University and REC will never force him out. Saban's ego and motivation is to win 8, 9, 10, .... 20 National Championships. He eats, breathes, and sleeps CFB and recruiting 24/7/365. That's all the man knows.

Recruits want to be a part of his coaching dynasty and win a NC even if they have to sit on the bench for 3-4 yrs. Lots of 4 and 5 star recruits never see the field their first few years and end up transferring elsewhere for playing time and to be that #1 guy (Alvin Kamara). I'm just excited that LSU now has a coach with some direction and leadership who is laying the foundation for future NC's

Absolutely. Saban has previously said that LSU is his biggest treat to winning the SECW. If he can poach 1-2 recruits destined for LSU it hurts us, and helps him.

I'm just thankful Sayin is committing now and not on NSD like that groupie Patrick Surtain

Lagway would be an absolute fool to go to College Station after this season. The rumored and likely mass exodus of talent, poor coaching and development, as well as the tainted brand. These kids need to realize the long term ramifications, go to a proven NFL factory, whether that is an LSU, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, etc. Texas A&M is truly a joke.

Feel you there brother but it’s incredibly positive the way the commits are locked in as a unit for 23’ and 24’. Have to remember, these kids can change their mind with the swiftness, insiders can’t read minds of these kids, some of whom are highly impressionable. Overall, LSU is looking VERY good and we just got Howard, whom would’ve been a consensus five star had he not had the set back. Kelly will get an established QB for 24’, whether it’s Sayin or another highly touted recruit. Remember the McClain CB’s for UF as well, haven’t lost out yet.

LSU will never lack a very good QB under BK. We are set
up for at least 5 years right now.

How can you argue Bama QB results to the NFL?

They have 3 former QBs starting in the NFL and Bryce Young will be the next.

Before that both Greg McElroy and AJ McCarron were solid backups for many years in the league.

Lsu cannot compare to the Bama nfl pipeline at the QB position.

As usual, LSU fans get their hopes up on some west coast recruit that shows them attention and it never works out.

Cassius Marsh, Eli Ricks, Julian Sayin, etc.

Even with NIL those kids aren't coming to LSU.

This is what worries me about guys like Nyckoles Harbor.

It really is sickening how we can lead for a kid for a year or longer then Saban just walks in last minute after not even being in the conversation and steals that kid the week of his commitment. shite happens all the time...

Pretty sure LSU only came into it later in the process, about 2 months ago I think most thought UGA was the team to beat until Puglisi.

The thing that kills me is that i know the running joke is that Saban will soon retire but it has to be soon. I mean this kid wont likely start for at least 2 more years. Does Saban really coach 3 more years? I really feel this Saturday is his last day in Death Valley. Lets send him off right :)

I honestly think the kid picks lsu...Sloan goes to see the kid then immediately he's about to commit the next week? I could be wrong but who knows

Hard to predict against Wiltfong my friend. I hope you’re right but this one appears to be over. Let’s all go get excited about Ricks or some other long shot lol.

Edit: major respect for a bold prediction Lark
