Personally I doubt Washington will stay at TE.

If you look at UGA's recruiting, it's not that hard. strong arse offer.

So when do we expect to see Vandagriff hit the portal?

Well, he hasn't signed so not going to the portal. But, he could de-commit. But with Newman there for 1 year and now Daniels there for 2 or 3 (TBD), you have to wonder if Griff wants to wait.

The bigger risk of transfer is likely 2020 signee Carson Beck, a 4-star himself. Does he really wanna be between Newman, Daniel, and Griff?

And what about 2020 transfer Austin Kirskey from Nevada? I'll bet he's not happy!

And 2019 signee D'Wan Mathis (another 4-star) will likely have to leave or resign himself to career backup.

Bringing in (paying for) that third transfer could really upset the peach cart!

Man, IF vandagriff decides to take his talents elsewhere (Oklahoma), the fallout could be that we wind up with Nuss AND Caleb Williams... JT to Georgia can be a big win for LSU IMO.

Money.

Georgia has shown that not only can it not develop a QB, butit actually ruins them. Look at what they did to Fromm

I forget where I heard it but I think UGA is moving to the spread this year just like we did last year. They’ve proven to themselves now what it took LSU 10 years to learn, you can’t win with that antiquated offense even with a stacked squad.

I just can’t understand how they are recruiting so incredibly well. OSU I get bc they’re in the playoffs every other year. UGA made it to the Ship once, three years ago.

It’s annoying seeing them and OSU recruit the way they are this year coming off of an LSU championship. I know we will have great players who were underrated by websites and the staff have proven they’re the best talent evaluators around but I’d like to also get one of those 5-6 5* years on top of our outstanding ability to scout lower ranked talent.

Yeah because teams never change their offensive philosophy right? You think LSU fans would understand better than any one. It's not like we hired an OC that runs a spread offense or anything.

No worried about losing Vandagriff. He and Daniels will only overlap by two years at the most and I really don't think Daniels will be in Athens for 3 years.

Newman 2020
Daniels 2021
Vandagriff(or maybe Beck if he sticks around) 2022

I'm personally rooting for Mathis. Would make for a great story after his career and life were almost ended. He just got cleared today.

Simple answer to that is, who cares? Smart knows he can go get another top QB (I mean look at that list). He's all about giving himself more options. He's in win now mode, and nobody knows if Beck or Griff will be freshman phenoms. None caught my eye like Fields (who I prayed LSU could get), Lawrence (Peyton Manning with legs), or Tua (Russell Wilson 2.0) coming out of high school. BTW, off topic a bit, but Caleb Williams is that type of future star to me.

Guy I'm with you. IMO, the coronavirus is kinda hurting us, because this is the time where we strut our stuff showing off the championship and everything that comes from being that type of team. The year after Clemson won their national championship with Watson, they finished with their best recruiting class in recorded history. They had FIVE 5 stars including Lawrence, and got the #1 player in Alabama in Justyn Ross.

Daniels has the talent and experience to beat out every QB on that roster in 2021

Considering he couldn’t beat out a 3 star recruit at his previous stop, I wouldn’t be all that quick to assume this... it’s just very likely the kid was a great HS QB, but that is his peak... plenty of examples of guys like this

I'd take Vandagriff long before I would take Caleb Williams. As Vandagriff is a far better prospect relative to Williams.

Not to mention, that Vandagriff isn't going to recommit to Oklahoma after de-committing and then committing to UGA in any event.

Lolwut? He started as a true freshman and sophomore before being hurt in the first half of the first game that year. Very similar situation to Eason when he was here.

We open 2021 with Clemson so starting a freshman is obviously not ideal. I think in a perfect scenario, Newman starts this year, an experienced transfer in Daniels in 21 before he goes pro, then the better of beck/Brock in 22 on. I don't see what's so unreasonable about that.

MILES ain’t going pro fools, it took him 3yrs to get enough meat on his bones to play in the SEC, and people think in 9 months he’ll be in the NFL —— that’s FRRAZY!!!
