Yeah should have even better year with new coach. Quarterback in that video is a stud too. Only a sophomore in that video. Probably not LSU worthy but kid can play

Looks to be a great athlete. I'm liking him and Gordon, and then DeSean Smith next year

No doubt, barring injury, future NFL TE for a very long time. Dillon Gordon is also a beast TE.

Best video I've seen from an LSU TE commit/signee in a long time.

He's very athletic and fluid for his size.

I don't remember him against WM. The game was 43-0 though, so maybe I just lost interest. Video looks good.

247 has him rated in their Top 247 that was posted yesterday. There is a lot of disparity with the rankings this year with the rearrangement of scouts and scouting services.

Wow how are you supposed to defend that in high school?
Also Miles and SE must love this kid.

Desean Smith will be the number one TE prospect in the state in 2013, and one of the top TE's in the country. He has turned his focus to football and the weight room, and is putting on quality muscle as we speak.

Is that the kid from Barbe? He was by far the best TE I saw last year, including Thomas.

Yes JJ, Sophomore TE from Barbe.

They have a new head coach, and will have a new QB, so it will be interesting to see. But when you are 6'5", 230 lbs in high school you will stand out regardless!

Barbe still has the freshman WR (he is in the 6'1" 185 lb range now) and they have a good senior running back, so it will be very hard to key on Desean, as big as he is. Passing stats may be down a little this year due to the loss of Foster (still walking on at LSU from what I hear).

I didn't see Thomas last year, so I can't comment or compare. But I feel that with two more years of the weight room and development, Desean will be a national recruit in 2013.
