Guys here on Atl sports talk radio say daddy Burrow is basically brokering for his son to be THE starter @ either Nebraska, Fla or with us. I'll take him. I ain't about feelings. I'm about wins.

It makes for a good segment on talk radio but I think they’re just assuming. Burrow’s Dad is a college OC and would know better than anyone there’s no way you could hold a coach to that. Once you sign on the dotted line all bets are off.

The truth likely is that Dad is leading the recruitment and a clear path to starting is what will make the decision, but a guarantee in May isn’t worth anything.

We watched completely different games

The pass rush completely dominated.

Here's the connection with the dad:

LSU safety coach Bill Busch coached with the dad..

Busch, a native of Pender, Nebraska, spent two different periods coaching at the University of Nebraska from 1990-93 and 2004-07. Between his stints in Lincoln with the Cornhuskers, Busch coached the secondary at Utah for three seasons, spending one season under Urban Meyer. He also coached defensive backs at New Mexico State for four years.

Why does everyone think he's the second coming? He's thrown all of 37 passes at OSU!

IF he comes and he wins the job, OK. But why does everyone think if he comes, it's his?

Look, if you got Burrow and he turned out to be really good, then he's here a year and goes pro. I know he has two years of eligibility but the odds are he won't use both of them.

LOL.....So you are predicting that a kid with very little game experience who wasn't good enough to put himself in line to be the starter going into his 4th year at Ohio State will come to LSU, light up SEC defensives and become the darling of NFL scouts?

Calm down. No one said he’s gonna walk in and be a first rounder, but there are a lot of Ohio State fans that are pissed he’s leaving. Plenty of them think he’s better than Haskins. This isn’t your typical transfer situation.

Uh, well,.....that's sort of what he was implying. Unless he meant that Burrow would come and play mediocre for a year and then bypass the opportunity to play another year at LSU to improve his draft status. Something tells me that a kid that graduates in 3 years is a little smarter than that. What is not typical about this? He's a grad transfer looking for more playing time. This isn't a Jeremiah Masoli/Russell Wilson siutation. Those are atypical transfer situations.

I'm not the only one who thinks that.

He outplayed both Haskins and Martell in Ohio State's spring game, and he's on some draft boards for 2019 already.

And he's got national people saying he's the top transfer QB in the market by a significant amount.

We all believe LSU has an impressive stable of athletes at wide receiver and given the lack of running backs suitable for a power running game it's pretty clear this offense is going to have to air it out, so a reasonably competent quarterback is going to have an opportunity to put up some numbers.

Besides, Kevin Toliver and Toby Weathersby just went pro. By now if you're not assuming any halfway decent starter at LSU who's a junior is going pro then you are not paying attention.

Think he may have gotten years of better QB training at Ohio State instead of the LSU QB geniuses??

I think it's interesting how many people tried to play it cool after the spring game saying "we're fine at QB, you can't take anything from spring games" and "35% of the offense is installed, relax," but their true feelings betray them now that we have another possible QB as an option. Now we HAVE to get this guy.

I think you get this guy because you have a scholly, he can help competition and depth, and he may pan out to fit our offense as opposed to the one he is leaving.

People who don’t want him I question...there is no reason any fan base without qb questions wouldn’t be excited to get this guy.

I don't think there's anyone that doesn't want him. I'm just observing how after the spring game more than a few people said we were fine at QB but everyone wants this guy because they think he can come in and start.

No controversy to be had. He's the starting QB day 1. Brennan will transfer.

He shouldn't.

He's not big or strong enough yet. He needs another year. This guy gives him that.

Unless he's worried that a year from now Narcisse will pass him, in which case he probably ought to transfer.
