Anyone else feel a lot better about our chances of keeping Joe Brady long term with this commitment from Gilbert? I was already of the mindset that a deal was made by Woodward behind closed doors, but this is ultimate reassurance!

He’s about to get a contract for $2M a year and an OC title. Won’t get that anywhere else.

He's not going anywhere. Everything is already in place, changes will take effect after the season. He is not the only coaching change coming either. And we won't be going to budget route anywhere.

No. But only because I wasn’t concerned to begin with.

I agree he'll get 2 mil and an oc or co-oc title.

Absolutely disagree he wouldn't get that anywhere else.

Good change or bad change? I have a gut feeling Aranda is gone. Idk why but it feels like when Chavis left.

I also suspect Aranda may leave.

One can say this every year and eventually your comment will come true.
There is nothing indicates that Aranda is unhappy or wanting to leave.
Is he ready and does he want a head coaching job and if so does a power 5 super team want to take a risk on an unproven head coach that is a good defensive coordinator.

Aranda is young enough to stay put for now and seize the right opportunity when it comes available.

Dont think what a 17 yo might or might not do is going to have much of an effect on contract negotiations.

I never saw a reality where Joe Brady leaves to go somewhere else because of money.

We can give him any title besides HC.
We will pay him pretty much whatever someone else will pay him.
He’s got so much fricking good will here.

If he leaves it will be to be someone’s HC or an NGL OC but we probably pay better

Brady knows its smart to stay for a while too. He will be ready to be an OC, but not HC yet. Needs more years experience as a coach. Its smart of him to stay and learn from O on what it takes to be a HC.

and if he is making 2 or 3 mill a year as LSUs OC, no reason to take a HC job elsewhere.

crazy that we are talking about Joe Brady possibly leaving for a HC job mid season in his first year at LSU as the Passing game coordinator. I love it
