Disagree- and you can look at Elliott Porter as an example- you follow your dreams, not your bruised ego...

Where do people get this? On Monday before 1/2/14, he flat out said Speedy to LSU was a "done deal". Just because he was right the NEXT day doesn't mean crap. It was his "done deal" claim that got everyone's hopes up.
And as stated before, the "don't shoot the messenger" crap about LF to UT and Saban to follow, yeah, that was literally MINUTES before LF repped the boot.

Everybody I've spoken to at Ole Miss isn't that concerned about it.

There's a small chance he'll flip 10-15% at best, but things will have to go very bad this weekend in Oxford.

1) We've been on Speaks from the beginning.

2) His family and the Ole Miss coaches have a great long-standing relationship .

3) Two of his teammates are headed to Ole Miss (Rod Taylor, Dayall Harris).

Because he picks every possible outcome and then proclaims how right he is all the time when one of the 10 possibilities he named is right.

It is as simple as this. Once a kid commits to a school even if you missed on his long time first choice that school tends to grow on you because you begin to identify with them... just like we did as kids to LSU! Nothing mystical about that.

Because nothing changes, right?

I should put this in the other thread, but because things change, like you said, he should probably chill on the "I expect him in this class" talk with every new development.

Well when you tell a LSU coach you're committing to LSU, generally, people are going to think it's a "done deal."

Edit:

He said he didn't believe it though. It was just what he was hearing and felt he should just pass on the information anyway. I don't see what the problem is.

What I love about the Jimmy Smith hate is that people are always wanting more information, but then they don't like it unless it's 100% accurate. Do you want these recruiting guys to be gatekeepers of information? Or do you want unfiltered info and for you to figure out what you believe or not? I appreciate Jimmy's philosophy of just passing on the information he's allowed and for us to make sense of it all.

I think he goes by what the Staff tells him, but he doesn't have a private message board like the pay sites, so he gets caught in these situations sometimes. I don't believe it's calculated moves to put stuff out that covers himself in every outcome.

We come in second a lot. If there was an LSU All Second Place Team, it'd be a pretty impressive list. As far as the dream school thing, I think some of that is kids that get off on collecting offers and some is we just arrive late on the scene.

given that every player has a school that finished in second, most every school finishes second a lot.

Interesting that other schools do not feel threatened by LSU when a kid openly admits playing for LSU has always been a dream of theirs.

If anything, he needs to be more.calculated to cover himself. Going out on a limb is fine and all, but when it comes to names that pop up in the 11th hour, at least just leave it at "waiting for more to develop" or something.
