In Lousiana, the age of consent is 16, iirc. However, if you're within two years of each other (17-15, 18-16, etc) it's still okay, you can't get in trouble for getting down. Anything outside of that is rape.

there are actually 2 laws. i don't know if this has been said
felony carnal knowledge and misdemeanor carnal knowledge have slightly different definitions (and a HUGE difference in sentencing)

The difference between an 18 year old and a 14 year old can be astronomical. I thought freshman girls looked like...girls when I was a senior in HS.

When I was in highschool, a sophomore chick (15) was banging a senior (18) and her parents found out and got him convicted of rape. This could be a similar situation and that's a raw deal.
