The video of that race was awesome. Watkins just hits another level and smokes the rest of those guys. Excited to watch him in the P&G

10.22 and 10.48 respectively is super fast for high school 100 m. The key here is Watkins and Durham are football players.

Kayshon Bouttee ran a 10.78 in the 100m as a reference to another fast football player running track.

But for reference against a single sport track guy, Matthew Boling (at UGA track right now) ran a wind aided 9.98 (which is blazing) in the 100m in high school (2019).

Durham doing that at his size is special.

This kid is going to take so many to the house.

Was that the state finals or just some random track meet?

Those schools are from all over Texas

Adding speed like that is a gamechanger.

Haha I was expecting to see the white guy get absolutely burned and he held his own, pretty impressive.

I’m seeing this scoreboard explode and throw sparks like on “The Natural”. That’s smokin.

Curiosity. What’s the +1.6 at the top left of the scoreboard??? Can’t be the wind aid because that would be hurricane force wind. It’s not the winning margin. Just wondering.

It’s the wind, but 1.6 isn’t anything crazy. Anything under 2.0 counts as a valid time, and you’ll routinely see Diamond League races with those types of winds.

The highest I saw was a 6.1 for a time Trayvon Brommel ran back in high school, and I think that was contested in awful weather.

Wind aided 1.6 m/s.

Nah. 1.6 m/s is 3.6 mile per hours. Just a slight breeze.

“Multiple guys here have run 10.2’s before”

A few moments later……….

“Oh my God 10.22 are you kidding me?!”
