If AU only snags Dyer in the RB sweepstakes, that is still a great catch, if we don't sign any of the premier RBs remaining and have to wait an entire year on the 2011 class...that will be a bigger deal!!

Maybe not cherrypick per se, but you have to be concerned with shepard, loston, and lowe leaving the state last year, and seastrunk, Washington, and Davis to LSU this year

Shep -If we offered him at QB we would have had him.

Loston- Just was never interested in Texas. You guys got one from us.

Lowe- never even sniffed a Texas offer he was way down the list.

Seastrunk- When did he commit to LSU?

Washington- Never sniffed a Texas offer. He wanted to be a Horn but you can't take em all.

Davis- Never sniffed a Texas offer. We had a few on the board before him.

So lets see we only lost Loston who else did you guys "cherry pick."

I don't disagree with your assessment, but you can't say that we didn't get some good players. But it's just the nature of recruiting in Texas. Aside from the 4 or 5 players that don't have any interest in Texas, or don't jump on their Texas offer early, everyone else is Texas leftovers.

Those players may end up being better than what Texas got, but we won't know until years down the road. And that still won't mean we stole them from Texas.

But then again, I don't care if we actually stole them from Texas or not, we're still getting very high quality recruits.

most programs in the big12 get good players from Texas

the question is who have we gone up against UT in recruiting where we won?

it's not some new thing. OU has won some battles against UT for very prized recruits going back the past 10 years

I'm sure they had cursory interest in him early, but bowed out when they saw they would have to fight to get him.

read the rest of my post, you'll see I don't know or care who we beat them for. Because we don't play them every year, it doesn't matter.

It's a bigger deal for OU to do it, because beating them for players has a more direct impact on the game they play in Dallas each year. The impact is more magnified. You see 50 people in every OU-Texas game whose last two were OU and Texas.

Id have to see a link on that. That just makes zero sense for his frame even if you ignore the fact he was like the #1 WR that year.

i don't care either

but i wouldn't dismiss UT in any mythical "battles" with LSU, like earlier posters were trying to suggest

it's also a bigger deal b/c Oklahoma talent is sub-par and they need major guys from TX to win anything

I've heard Texas fans say they don't want Seastrunk or aren't recruiting him b/c he supposedly has a "street agent".
