According to this AJC recruiting piece.

LINK

Actually, according to the Tampa Tribune, but link to it is at AJC.

Not that we had a shot... also says Clowney has Bama and USCe in a virtual deadlock for top spot. Not exactly new.

I don't think this is a shocker, most places ive seen had him down to these three anyway. good find in terms of having it official.
ive lost hope on clowney, i just hope he goes to USCe instead of Bama.

Clowney is going to USCe. He WANTS to stay close to home and he said that even after his visit to Alabama. Said he was impressed at Bama, but thought it was too far from home. Can't see him going anywhere else but USCe

This isn't all true and it's the same stuff that was said about Sam Montgomery.

The biggest thing USCe has going for them is that Rock Hill traditionally sends lots of kids to USC. Clowney's school South Pointe sent two studs there in 2009 (Devonte Holloman and Stephon Gilmore who might be the most underrated player in the SEC).

USCe doesn't have as much help here as it did with Lattimore. Now he might very well end up at USCe but Bama is gonna be very stiff competition. Spurrier finally putting together a meaningful season will definitely help cause this kid wants to win.

word on the nets is that if not for the draw to be close at home Bam would be a shoe in but we all know how Mama will guide even when she says I will let him make the decision. If Bama wins the SEC this yr I think it will go a long way towards helping us with him, but I think we will need something big to overcome the desire to be close to home.

I hope he signs with Ga especially if it helps our chances with Crowell.

O if you switched the location of the two schools, he'd already have committed to Bama and be actively recruiting for them.
