Pay no mind to some of these jerks on here man.

Not that tight. We have 2-4, depending on where Jackson and Bryant end up and likely to take 6. Guillory, Wright Lee with a plus 1 if we need it. Also not common for us to turn away an early instate offer guy no matter how long they take.

Agreed. I would think we are looking for 5-6 DL. Roy, the kid from california, Guillory, Wright, Lee, and Jackson if we can get him. Maybe Caldwell?

I post because sometimes I want to. And stop pretending you don’t know why.

Pretentiousness. Not very becoming.

Is Lee a true NT or can he play 3-4 DE?

I thought with the in-state guys the staff likes to hold off and watch them work out personally At one of their Camps before they make an offer

I understand the rationale, but this should not be a rule of thumb. It does not look good if Bama and Florida are offering LA kids before LSU. Hopefully the kid is really all LSU and chooses the home team regardless, but the optics are terrible.

Haven't we heard this before; that 'Bama carpet-bombs offers just to create stress for rivals? Especially OOS kids so they don't risk pissing-off instate coaches?

Maybe our coaches have been focused on Guillory, Roy, Wright, and Jackson on the Dline and Lee slipped through the cracks?

In the big picture, this just isn't that big of a deal. There's simply no way any program is going to be able to offer every in state kid that they might want before an out of state program does. There are numerous examples from the list of top Alabama and Texas recruits that we've offered before their in-state programs. There are at least a few top 10 Alabama recruits that we offered months before either Alabama school. We offered Zachary Evans nearly 4 months before either Texas school did.
Sometimes this means something to a recruit and sometimes it doesn't, but it's totally unavoidable. Also, even if it does mean something to the recruit there's still plenty of time to make them forget about it.
I'd much rather the staff be judicious with in-state offers over potentially burning bridges by offering too early and not being able to honor the offer.
Keep in mind, I'm talking about relatively early offers (junior year), not late offers (December/January of senior year) where we've clearly missed on a prospect and are making a fallback offer (like Akers/Ettienne).

Yep, ALA will offer 250+ kids and the recruit will be on Cloud 9, blowing up social media how he got an offer from Saban. The ALA recruiting support staff will then send hundreds of letters and correspondence via mail to the recruit. The kid is essentially brainwashed that ALA wants him and 90% of the time it's all smoke and mirrors.

Mississippi St offered earlier this week and Georgia called and offered today!

"stop pretending" ?
I still dont get what you are infering. Something about race maybe? Is it that he is white and that was code of some sort? Or is it that he is black and his dad has a good job somewhere which you find odd?
