I absolutely 100% believe that is exactly what the case is with us asking Lee to open his recruitment back up and look elsewhere. It can't mean anything but that. It's really good news for LSUs program and our recruiting class, bc you know damn well as much as I do that coach O wouldn't have done this without having a valid, no-brainer type of reason that involves another future commit. It's a stud for sure, I just can't wait to see what surprises we are going to get added to this already stellar class. Ed O is absolutely killing it. Geaux Tigers.

Welcome to the "meat market" boys and girls. It's ugly, but it's the nature of the beast. This is how you become elite. Good luck to Lee and his future endeavors.

Good luck to Lee. Great player and will be a successful DT at the next level.

They don’t have time to find another spot in a lot of cases. Those slots are already filled. This is the same crowd saying Louisiana kids need to commit early and that Louisiana kids can play at LSU and then get taken care of career wise when they are done playing ball and if they go out of state then don’t come back.

Could be any number of reasons. For sure this guy will do well wherever he goes. Good luck to him.

Nah man, this feels completely different than the Etienne situation did. Ed O has a special prospect in mind that just decided he wanted on board so he made room for him. I expect a couple more players to be processed out of this class as well from what I'm hearing from very highly regarded posters on this board. This isn't a bad thing lol. Chill out ffs. Sure, it kinda sucks that it had to happen this way and nobody plans on doing this to a commit, but damn, you have to do this sometimes to land a bigger fish. One thing is for sure, I trust coach O handling this situation like he did (I'm positive it's for a damn good reason), his evaluation of prospect's skill/talent and their potential, and I know that he has the best interest of this program in mind when doing something such as this. This was a calculated move that he's probably been waiting on confirmation from the other player before he pulled the trigger and letting Jalen Lee go.

Is it not possible that the coaches saw something in Lee that they did not like? He was looking at Ole Miss, so maybe he did not like his playing chances at LSU.

This is the first domino. I feel for Lee as a local kid, but this is a big picture move for the program. To be elite, tough decisions like this will have to be made. You don’t turn down kids like Webb and Burch if the want to play here. People might as well get ready for more of this because 4 more spots need to be opened up.

Auburn may be a good landing spot for Lee; SEC West rival and we can follow his development

Well, that theory kinda gets shot down when Jalen Lee posted he was "110%" committed to LSU just the other day. He was told to go look elsewhere bc we have someone that our staff views as a can't miss prospect that we have to sign by any means necessary. It's got to be on the defensive side of the ball on the line too if i had to guess. It seems like we just traded Lee for a higher regarded player by our staff on the defensive side of the ball that would play on the defensive line as well. That's what my guess would be bc it would make sense.

Yep. LSU is very enticing for prospects right now and the future looks as solid and as bright as any other program in the country and we are just scratching the surface of what O has planned for this program. You can tell that LSU is on the upswing and things are about to just take off here under Orgeron. These guys want to play for a coach like O bc of his excitement, energy, and love for the game and our players that is obvious to see. He is genuine and there is no guessing with coach O, he is who he is and what you see is what you get...an awesome mentor and football coach. The players love him, the fans love him, the media loves him, the recruits families love him. He's just a very likeable dude all the way around and you know he is going to be at LSU for some time to come. Our correlating success on the field this season has done nothing but make for an explosive combination that top players want to be a part of. O is just getting started people. He's about to build something special here. He was born for this job. Geaux Tigers.

I hope Jalen kills it elsewhere as long as it is not against LSU. But if he does, let's remember that most on here agreed with the alleged decision to send him packing.

Yep I don’t like it at all. O pounds the in state pride/staying home message at every opportunity and then we process a 4 star DT, huge position of need, right outside of Baton Rouge who really really wanted to be here. Tweeted “this is why you come to LSU!” After the Bama game. This is horse shite

Strange how the people complaining about this are people with almost no posts like GeauxLSU1971. It's almost like they are fans of other teams just coming here as an alter to flame LSU...
