You'd be surprised how quickly he'll put on weight after starting a college strength program. Elite DL play is about quickness and explosiveness. Stewart has both.

O I don’t doubt that he’ll be a great player. I just think it might take him a year or 2 in the strength program and actually getting reps in. He’s only played 1 year of high school football, no amount of working out with a personal trainer can replace actual reps against guys in game situations. By the time his junior year roles around though he should be one of the best players in college

again it’s not some huge knock on the kid to say he’d be better in college if he was 19 as a freshmen. I’m not saying don’t take him. Im not saying he won’t be good. i’m saying there aren’t a lot of great 19 year old DTs and it sucks that he can leave at 20.

So in your opinion who’s going to have the better career

Stewart

McKinley

Breaux

or maybe Zion Williams?

idk probably stewart.

But again, i’m not saying don’t take the kid.

I’m just saying a would rather him 19-21 vs 18-20.

Doesn’t have to play next year. He’s in better hands getting coached up by two of the best defensive line coaches in college over any highschool coach.

Meh. He’d have been better off actually, you know…playing football. At least this year or next. Obviously him being a take or not is really questionable. But him only having played 1 year of high school football is.

I want him, but would temper my expectations regarding him doing a whole lot his 1st couple of seasons. If healthy, he’ll play, but I just don’t see him dominating until his 3rd year at best.

Just the thought of McKinley and Stewart possibly starting for Lsu in 2025 is insane

Has another player ever reclassified AND been an early enrollee?

The most recent at LSU was Hurley (QB) for this season.

I'd guess the misinformation he mentioned clearing up will be his reasoning for taking so long to bail on his team when his reclassificatipn has been known was likely since the spring. No matter how great many think he is, it was a bad look and could/should make people question what his motivation is and who is running things around his recruitment.

Take this kid out of LA and our belief he's a lock to LSU, I guarantee many, many more would be dumping on him about his choices. Go read message boards from schools not involved in his recruitment. Lots of "shades of a future bust" posts. 1 year of actual football, publicly acknowledged NIL recruitment and jetting on his team last minute isn't a great way to ease those types of thoughts from people with no skins in the game.

First I've seen of the 247 ranking and kudos to them. No way a kid on the DL with 1 year of football should be a 5*. We wouldn't accept it for any other player we weren't expecting to land. Remember how we treated Arch over skipping camps?(me included and still stand by that) Que Allen Iverson

And the only thing that matters at all in the passages in bold above is the fact that he has only played one season of HS ball. The rest is just noise and inconsequential.

How old do you think Bryce Underwood is, 17 - He will be 18 in May. Do you suggest we tell him to stay in High School one more year because you think he’ll be better the following year because his mind and body will mature. I’ll check with the Other 134 colleges that are recruiting him and see if we can all come to that agreement.

1. Never said we shouldn’t take Stewart. Literally said the opposite.

2. Bryce Underwood is a SR. He wouldn’t be able to play HS football next year.

3. Bryce Underwood is 6’3” 205. That’s College QB sized. He doesn’t have 20 pounds to gain.

4. QBs aren’t pushing against 320 college OL every play, or shouldn’t be.

That’s fair although I think the weight thing is being blown out of proportion someone that size and athletic can make his body whatever the coaches want him to be at I don’t think that will be a problem
