Very likely. Bags of cash only get you so far. You have to have good relationships before that to close on top recruits.

This probably isn’t the. Right thread for this comment, but I’d like to see a rule change for NIL deals. You take a deal, you can’t transfer without sitting a year.

I really like that idea and think it makes good sense. Unfortunately, I have a feeling it might bump into some of the more strict state laws that have been rolled out.
We really need a single federal law covering NIL, no matter what. That is a problem on several fronts. Some schools are currently at a disadvantage because of how current state laws are worded. This is actually affecting LSU in a negative way because the LA law specifically prevents school officials and boosters from being involved in the process.

NIL deals isn’t the reason behind why LSU is lacking because Olivia Dunne has one of the biggest NIL deals out there. Other schools a funneling booster money to players which will all crash and burn in the long run. You want athletes that want to be at LSU. If you in it for a check then so be it.

For it to be sustainable, they need to tie revenue to the nil deals. With out that, nil will eventually level off and settle down.

Dude there are several close to LSU that have said over and over and over that Boutte is NOT going anywhere! That is a straight up rumor and Ricks was leaving last year until O talked to him. He just wasn’t happy here because of all the drama that was occurring and how things were looking within the program. Not one of those players you mentioned were locks to LSU except for maybe 1. Max left when things were reset here at LSU and he probably got sick of dealing with our crazy arse fans like you being too critical of BS you hear from no bodies.
LSU will get up on this NIL stuff, Jesus Christ there must be a plan in place to make it happen first. Let the shite play out before freaking out! We also landed a top tackle who could have went to multiple places and was quoted as saying that he loves the plan that LSU laid out for him and if you don’t believe that NIL was part of that plan then I’m not sure what to tell you?
Any player that we’ve lost can and will be replaced this year and next year! This coach is organized and he knows what the hell he’s doing so let the man work and relax! My goodness!

This isn't Mathews. Overall he is a pretty quiet kid. He doesn't really play them attention games like some do. I think if it is all his choice he will be a Tiger but it may not be his choice completely. Just what I been hearing on the street.
