Pretty sure he wants to play DE from everything I've read

an elite edge rusher pays more in the NFL now than an elite OL

The highest paid OL right now makes 28.5 million a year. There are 10 edge rushers that make more than that per year. There are 4 who make 40 million or more per year

I definitely think he has an easier path to early playing time on offense, but I think he is going to be a great defensive lineman. I would just be shocked if he has early playing time over some of the dudes we have on defense right now.

I think the only way he plays both ways would be full time defense and maybe as a fullback or 3rd blocking TE on goal line offense.

One thing is certain, CLK has one of the best set of plays I have seen for short yardage. A couple of the plays he ran against LSU on 3rd/4th down this year were amazing.

Well Lane did let that big DT carry the ball on offense, right? We could see that. I bet that thought was in his head day 1.

He could see immediate impact by going to the OL. Will be curious how the Coaches plan that out. He can play on either side. I am looking forward to seeing where he gets stationed.

Playing both sides of the ball in the trenches is too taxing at this level.

You see that’s where I get the impression that playing edge or 7 or 9 technique next year on d would be of any value for him - but I digress In lane we trust!

Or what kind of upside does it give him when he clearly is a game changer as a olineman!

#1 player in the country, freak of nature, wants to play DL.

He'll start his career on the DL. We'll see what happens in future seasons.

Top Will Campbell as left tackle who also dominates run blocking not just pass protection.

He is listed at 6’ 4” which puts him at the low low end of NFL OTs.

not sure he wants to play guard.

I think he sticks at DL unless something goes wrong.
