Cole is worth two spots if he keeps me from seeing the embarrassment of a kicking game I saw last season again

Not having a competent kicker cost us two games last year.

That moron you guys are replying to is trying to infer that Orgeron and staff didn't realize that Cole Tracy would have to count as an initial counter. There are a few imbeciles around here who keep trying to perpetuate this nonsense, but he seems like the most ardent.

Its absurd to think with only 25 scholarships that a school can afford to use one for the sole purpose of influencing another school to waste one of its own. Sure a school may rarely do it for its own benefit which might apply to Sopsher.

Again, Saban could care less what other programs do. His sole focus is on recriting the players he wants. The same applies to other programs and coaches as well.

No it's not and apparently you're too dumb to have a fricking clue what they're talking about.

This is really a tough call from a personnel management standpoint. I firmly believe the staff had full intentions of taking both guys and kicker Cole Tracy not counting against the 25-man limit. I’ve still yet to see a solid explanation of why Tracy counts, but hey, it’s the LSU and the NCAA so I never expect any breaks. But, what’s done is done and now the staff is sitting with a decision between four-star, top-100ish defensive back Mario Goodrich and four-star, top-300ish quarterback James Foster.

so then this guy was just making shite up? thats fine if he was but hes pretty on point when it comes to LSU recruiting.

He's uninformed, if he doesn't understand that a grad transfer still counts as an initial counter. That's not a new rule that was just put in place last year.

And just because you are in the know about recruiting doesn't mean you automatically know the rules. Look at how many regional and national recruiting "experts" perpetuated the myth that the NCAA had imposed a 25 player hard cap that would prevent counting EE's in the previous class.

The staff was definitely trying to sign 26 guys, but the issue wasn't that they didn't think Tracy would count. The issue was that they were trying to say Seth Stewart should NOT have counted in the 2017 class, thus giving them room to sign 26 guys in 2018. I believe that under the previous rules Stewart would NOT have counted, but under the new rules he did.

ok.

sooooo to recap, LSU coaches and officials with the football program misconstrued the new rules, like I was inferring, but for reasons other than what I stated.

great talk

Damn you're a dolt. They didn't misconstrue the rules. They were appealing an interpretation that went against them. They knew Stewart counted when they signed Tracy but had been trying to argue that he should NOT have counted. Stewart counting or not had zero effect on whether they were going to sign Tracy as you were inferring.
