I think the class so far has quality and quantity at the OL position. Although it appears we again will not get that natural LT with Green decommitting and going to A&M.
On the other hand, we have no DE/OLB committed and none on the horizon it appears. I would prioritize that JUCO from Iowa who is #1 on Rivals. We are apparently putting all of the chips on the Sopsher brothers in a Leonard/Lanard scenario. We are not in on any national DT's. That may not be as important given Lawrence and Fehoko have every incentive to return next year given they won't be on any NFL top 4 round radar this year. But the DE/OLB hole is glaring.

Although we don’t have any pass rushers on tap for this class you have to realize that we took several in last years class (Cherry, D. Scott, and Travez Moore) You have to think that at least one of those guys will end up being solid pass rushers. We also have Chaisson coming back next year as well.

This bothers me because our Head coach was suppose to be an elite DL recruiter! Yet here we are with jr starters hoping they stay another year just to have a decent DL next year.

Not sure what your concern is. Still have Alexander, Logan isn't going anywhere, still have Neil Ferrel, Cotton, nelson Jenkins, Dom Livingston, You add sopher and evans, and who knows with shelving that would be 9 guys.

With that said, dodn't think both Lawrence and b.f. leave if either do. if they stay, you have 11 lineman. that more than three deep. We have better depth on the d line than db and lb.

You do realize that Sopsher is a national recruit, right? He's the top DT in the nation, with an offer from just about every top program in the counrty.

I'll be surprised if Feheko comes back and Lawrence is 50/50 at best, in my mind.

The rest of the group you mentioned is solid, but not at all at the level we need to be. Orgeron has done a good job building solid depth, but hasn't been able to snag any potentially elite level guys yet. We need to start getting (or developing) some difference makers on the line. Look at how much pressure Florida was able to get with their front four. They did the same thing to Mississippi State last week. Passing against those guys is terrifying.

It's kind of telling when your best pass rusher is a safety, don't you think?

It's definitely a good class but we need to finish with Sopsher, Emery, and Lee to be an elite class.

Alexander is a jr. If the current jr.s left at the end of the season you would be comfortable with these guys:
Neil Ferrel, Cotton, nelson Jenkins, Dom Livingston, shelvin

starting at DL next year?

If Alexander left it would be for medical reasons. Certainly can't leave for the NFL as he can barley* get on the field as it is with his knee conditions.

Probably just Fehoka leaves. Lawrence would benefit from staying unless he is just really eager to get to the NFL.

If they both leave DL could be an issue next season.

We are ok at DT and will get a big bump from the in state DT's in the '20 class. OLB and pass rushers are the most glaring need since we apparently don't have any after Chaisson was injured.

I know people are kinda against Cain,, but I really think this is the type of guy we need at LSU. Davis and Cain would be a ridiculously good 1-2 punch. Najee Harris isn't fast either, yet he was considered a can't miss 5 star because of his talent outside of speed. Cain has those plus his blocking and receiving ability would make him a role player very early on.

No.

We would have needed an Elite level QB and an Elite level pass rusher.

I don't see those.

I do like 10 or 11 of our commitments and hope we'll get 2-3 more Top 150 guys.

Otherwise, this is a solid class. Not elite.

We have Burrow, Brennan, Parrish/Finley (committed) - what more do you want?
