Is Pickett’s commitment the most impressive pull in BK era?

Yes Underwood is the best player and the most important pledge during the BK era, but the stars all aligned for him — 2 heisman trophy QBs;; Michigan being a run-fist program, LSU forcing OSU’s hand with St Clair, Bama signing (at the time) Sayin, etc

Pickett was a guy the big time NIL schools coveted and LSU had to sell Pickett on a return to glory of DBU under a 1st year defensive staff.

Perkins maybe.

But I’d say top 3. Perkins, Underwood, Pickett, in whatever order you want.

Still underwood

He’s the #1 player in the nation from a whole other region

Harold Perkins so far.

This is a question for later.

Underwood and Pickett could might as well be, but we shall see. Huge pickup today though. I’m still pumped!

Perkins is from New Orleans.

He was gonna flip even if Ed stayed

Absolutely. I was just referring to what we’ve gotten out of Perkins to date.

Reading it from a different angle I would choose Underwood for sure. I mean that kid is beyond legit. That was incredibly impressive we pulled him from Michigan. Pickett wasn’t an easy pull either. I really think Raymond should get his due on that one. The relationship he formed with Pickett well before he was at LSU held.

Jayden Daniels not being top 3 is wild

In today's era that has nothing to do with it. Mathews went to 8&4.

Pickett is a GIGANTIC pickup. You cannot overstate his importance.

But I'm still going with Underwood. He plays THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION and he is THE BEST PLAYER IN THIS CLASS.

Underwood, and the LSU potential for success (read: Natties) that he represents may be an important reason why many players, including Pickett, sign with LSU.

It's 1000% Underwood.

Best player in his class at the most important position in the sport all the way in frickin Michigan. Yes Pickett was impressive, but it'll never top Underwood. No recruit will ever top him.

Love me some JD. Can’t believe my miserable franchise are the lucky SOBs that got him! A couple things:

-I assumed we were talking purely high school, not transfers. But in this era what’s the difference? Maybe I should have.

-That said, at the time, JD was an up and down qb from ASU, not even a top 10 qb tranfser that year! (According to 247).

All credit to BK for seeing what others didn’t w JD but this thread is about BK going to toe w other super powers and winning 5*s like Pickett. At least I think it is.

Pickett is going to be a great player, but Bryce Underwood is still the most impressive pull for BK. He’s not only the consensus #1 overall player, but is one of the best HS QB prospects of the last few cycles.

No it’s Underwood. We pulled the #1 player in country QB out of Michigan. Future #1 overall draft pick and one of the best QB prospects ever in the history of recruiting.

How much does recruiting even have to do with it anymore. They go where the money is.

well he hasn't signed yet, so he's technically not committed yet

Underwood is number one. We’ve never landed a player like him

Underwood of course jumps out, and I know it is a taboo phrase but we still need to get him to campus.

I think this season, and the next, will tell us a lot about big Dom McKinley (who seemed destined for elsewhere). We can debate points about past elite LSU DEF's starting up front at DL or on the back end with DB's. Hoping McKinley is that 5-star DL that impacts games & gets that position pipeline going again.

QBs are different. Landing the clear number 1, even after the OC goes to ND shows how he can make this kid believe in what he’s built.

The oline/TE recruiting is also elite.
