Is Kiffin retarded?

...seriously..he takes control of a struggling Tennessee team and turns away 5*QB (I think he is?) Tahj Boyd, telling him "You're not my type of QB."
If LSU had a tradition of pocket passers, how pissed would you be if your coach told Russell Shepard, "Sorry, but no thanks. Good luck being an all-star somewhere else."
Boyd looked awesome in the Army game.

Well it's going to be pretty tough to build a competitive SEC team without any black players, eh?

I'd call it classy.
If he knows the kid isn't going to be his first option going into next season its much better that he warned the guy of it rather than blow smoke in his ear than sitting him on the bench.
He told him that there would be a slot there if he really wanted but that he would be behind in competition for the starting job.

I understand your point, good to tell him to go somewhere where' he'll fit, but still. Kiffin should take what he can get and change his offensive scheme or something. Just seems absolutely ridiculous to turn away such a good athlete because he doesn't fit your scheme. You find a way to make him fit

Kiffin is a poor talent evaluator and at best a mediocre coach. How could you tell a QB who is one of the nation's best & still wanted to go to Tennessee that he "doesn't fit into my scheme." Next thing you know, Vols fans will be demanding the return of Fat Phil!
