It's embarrassing. But the alumni love the bragging rights.
Well considering they're the #1 ranked HS in BR academically and 6th in the state, they're doing something else right too.
Baton Rouge High..... and it's not even close.....

Couldn't agree more! Anybody that has cultural diversity as a grade on their "report card" you know what their agenda is!

Would be awesome to give EA another badass. It's been a while since Glen "Big Putt" Dorsey.
FYI - the rankings are some RIGHT wing BS. Crony-capitalism and what-not.

I went to Baton Rouge High and am an assistant Principal in the school system and will still send my kid to U High. I'm not on here to defend it, but it is a better school all around. BRHS just attracts a type of student that wouldn't get into u high that will score great on tests, etc.

Yeah I started reading into the rankings and agree that they are a little odd. Moral of the story is U-high isn't first.

Baton Rouge High
Catholic High School
St. Joseph's Academy
All are academically superior to UHIGH in my humble opinion.

Yeah no way Uhigh is better academically than BRHS... let's not kid ourselves

So many laughs at your expense, both figuratively and literally.

Just curious, where does Episcopal rank according to locals. My wifes cousins went there and are all pretty sharp

Top 4 or 5. They have similar benefit to U-High with controlled enrollment. Very expensive, too.

Ehs- 6 nat merit finalist with class of 98 students
Cath- 6 with class of over 300
BRHS- 12 with class over 300
St Joe- 7 with class over 300
UHigh-1 class under 200
Numbers speak. Hard to pick best school but per pupil EHS wins this arguement.
Just for shits and jiggles Jesuit had 40

So... Good question, and not one answer with certainty into page 2.

As a BRHS grad I know about 1000 other BRHS grads, yet only about 50 U High grads. Oddly enough, I know more doctors and Lawyers out of the UHigh 50 than the BRHS 1000. Those BRHS grads top the list though when it comes to Masters in theater and PhD's in Sociology though! Just because your school has more 36's on acts and 4.7gpa,doesnt mean you have a better academic environment. It just means you churn more nerds through there. Jindal was a BRHS grad and his kids go to.... U High, and for good reason!

You funny, Andy. Justify blowing all that money on a decent education that could be had for free.

Just read his article on transferring in the Advocate. Question: He is quoted in the article that he left U High in order to play at EA for his senior year and graduate to get in college in January.
Sine the LHSAA doesn't allow transfers for athletic reasons how can he be eligible at EA? The LHSAA bylaws are very clear on this. If a student changes schools for athletic reason he shall not be eligible, ever.
How can he do this and maintain eligibility?
