I think LSU will have good numbers at the position next year, with some young talent. But there is no All-SEC caliber player that is needed.

Too much emphasis is placed on QB runs, due to lack of a star running back.

Haven’t heard any buzz associated with LSU and any of the running backs currently in the portal.

Some rumors about Etienne, but nothing concrete.

So is it:

1. LSU does not plan to take a RB in the portal.

2. They plan to, but no player is good enough thus far. They hope one enters the portal.

3. They already have a player identified and are waiting on him to enter the portal (Etienne or someone else)

Wish we'd go full force after Marshawn Lloyd, I love his style

It may not be as important as DL or CB, due to a sheer lack of bodies.

But from a talent and production standpoint, it’s crucial. LSU needs a 1,000 yard type rusher and I don’t see one on the roster currently. Of course things change: the offensive line can improve, perhaps a freshman surprises.

But taking a potential star RB would be smart, and there appears to be some hood ones. Maybe more to come.

Based on film, I think Kaleb Jackson looks to have explosive potential. We’ll see what his track times are this spring.

I think we’re fine.

Don't look past trey holly. You don't get the la all time rushing record on a fluke. Got that low certer of gravity thing going for him like Kevin faulk.

I think we are fine for the future. I was thinking perhaps a 1-year band-aid

Any chance Aaron Anderson moves to rb? His film makes me believe he could do it

We have:
Noah Cain
John emery
Josh Williams
Trey Holly
Kaleb Jackson

I don’t think we need or would take one unless an elite back entered the portal

I think in a world where your QB doesn’t rush for 800 yards we’d easily have a 1,000 yard rusher in John emery or Josh Williams

Block and that won't be an issue. RB is the one position you can get by with average talent provided there is adequate blocking. LSU for most part didn't have that last year.

Also not handing the ball off 5 yards behind the LOS might help some.

RB is not the most important position on the field but having an elite RB can exponentially increase the productivity of the offense. There’s a chance we don’t beat bama in 2019 without Clyde. Also, look at bama this year. 10 win season with close losses and all they had was Bryce young and Gibbs. Achane beat us by himself this year.

Having an rb that can break tackles, outrun the defense, and be a serious threat in the passing game seriously stresses a defense.

I think we need to wait and see what John Emery …Noah Cain …and Josh Williams decide to do after the bowl game

I’m not sure why people don’t like the idea of Aaron Anderson at rb. If you’ve watched his highlights it will be obvious. It’s probably his best shot for lots of PT

Because there is no need to pigeonhole Anderson into the backfield primarily. In this age of offense those little wr screens and such are just as essential and effective as runs. Sometimes more. 1 good block and a guy like Anderson can turn a 5 yarder into a 50 yarder. Being outside leaves a ton more space without the wash for the receiver to work with.

I believe Josh Williams can be a very productive lead back at LSU. I also think Goodwin has shown flashes in his LSU career. A 1/2 punch of Williams and Goodwin isn't terrible.

Imo, I don't think Emery returns to the team. I think he goes pro or transfers.

I do think LSU will add a portal RB for depth.

1a. Williams
1b. Goodwin
2. Cain/Portal RB
3. Cain/Portal RB
4/5. Holly/Jackson
