Important note to LSU recruits

1. LSU coach Saban, two SEC titles and one national title.
2. Coach that followed him, Les Miles, won one national title, two SEC titles and 3 SEC West titles.
3. Coach that followed him, Ed Orgeron within two years wins SEC title, and had the greatest season of any college team winning a national title.
4. Coach that followed him, Brian Kelly, wins SEC West title in first year with only 68 scholarship players.
What does this all imply? Almost any coach or recruit has a huge advantage in being at LSU, but if that coach is Saban or Kelly, LSU’s amount of success is likely huge!

It’s been corrected baws, one national title, 2 SEC titles and 3 SEC West titles for Les Miles. But Miles got screwed by the committee, an undefeated LSU was having to play Bama two times in a row, Bama did nothing to earn that!

Can you imagine if he had stayed much longer at LSU? Kelly looks like the closest thing to Saban, so LSU may be stocking up titles for years.

There was no committee back then; just the BCS and those were the results.

Why do people post letters and messages to high school kids and parents here. Always found that very strange

Why would that bother you? Would you rather it be some sleazy smuck from another site? At least here, it's controlled and policed.

Does LSU have just 68 scholarship players? Anyone on here who actually knows?

ESPN reported that LSU had just 68, so have others. Kelly said he will definitely be hitting the transfer portal again for next year.

quote:Man this recruiting cycle is going to be pure carnage. We just became the "it" team due to our dramatic win over Bama. So, lots of recruits are starting to lean our way. And we have 17 openings before attrition adds more. We might be able to take 35 players this cycle, and everyone is loving us right now. The amount of incoming talent is going to be obscene.

The BCS teams were selected by a committee.
I honestly don't know which comment you're head slapping. So for clarity since I got some downvotes, The BCS was a formula. That year it was an average (after some data normalization) of the Harris Interactive poll, the USA Today Coaches poll, and the combined computer polls. The two human polls had Alabama 2nd and OK St third. The computer polls reversed this but it was not enough to overcome the human polls, so Alabama was second in the BCS That's how they got in; there was no selection committee.

Polls are effectively committees.
