if the kid is as good as let on then why not go to WO he would be a star right off the bat..personally i dont think this kid will be able to hang with WM or WO running backs one WM is always loaded with strong fast backs WO has 3 returning that all ran for more than 600 last year

He played LB for the most part last year. Quite a few sacks, and a couple of fumble recoveries. They really only gave him the ball to run in short yardage when they were using his bulk.

anyway, I told her that there seems to be a pretty even split right along the lines that they are already struggling with. WO offers a lot more playing time, for sure--chance to make some good plays and get some nice stuff on film. Although it will be against smaller schools, and may be less "visible". WM offers a lot of visiblity, and from what hear has a really good S&C program which is important to him, as he's supposedly very strong and enjoys lifting. He's coming out of a pretty strong system, where you really have to put in your years and they favor playing upperclassmen, and he's worried about getting somewhere that he might get "lost" in the shuffle of being a new kid amongst those that the coaches have known longer and better.....

No, sorry. Didn't to to school in the Monroe area. But those Neville folks, never short on self importance, are susceptible to that allegation.

If the S&C is important then it's WM and OCS. Coach Sanders at WM is the best S&C coach not named Moffitt in the state. In fact he was very close to being hired before Moffitt got the job. WO's backs are returning while WM lost their entire backfield. I think WM might be a shock for him though if 5'11" 215 was "bulky" at his last school.

I was 17 as well when I graduated. Now with holdbacks and starting school at an older age many kids will graduate at 19. I have a kid at one of the WM feeders schools, and even though he did not hold back, he will graduate at 18.

Turned 18 at April, graduated in May.

reminds me of someone from this passed year named omer siddiqi was a TB/FB at Airline and tried to play at WM but got switched to D
i think he would have problems competing with the likes of Tyler Cain, Vincent Bell and Deon Fowler but youre a WM grad you know what kinda talent they have

If this kid wants to play defense then he needs to come to West Monroe. We have by far the best high school defensive coordinator in the state. Jerry arledge can get him ready to play college ball. Just look what he did with Mingo. First year to play organized football and he makes all-state. Not taking anything away from Mingo but he would not have gotten all-state had it not been for Jerry teaching him everything he needed to know.

Omer Siddiqui was too timid to play Fullback. He wouldnt hit the hole like Talton and he and the coaches both knew this. He chose to move to LB, once again HIS CHOICE and it worked out great for him. The WM coaches know best and they are even flexible in letting you switch positions if you cant produce at the previous position.

Vincent Bell is now a starting CB. WM will have Cain and Teshadi Talton at TB this year. They need a fullback b/c I dont think 5'6 160lb fullback DJ Powell will be able to start. The kid has the perfect build to come in and start at fullback or even have a huge impact at MLB like Omer Siddiqui did last year.

If the kid can play he will not get lost in the shuffle, and I guarrantee you if he transfers to WM before spring practice or whenever he will be closely watched by the coaches even more than some of the returning players simply b/c the coaches know what those players can do and are interested in seeing the new kid.

I know I'm a homer but WM seems like hands down the best choice.

LSUmomma, do you know the kids stats? 40, bench press, squat, power clean, verticle? I know WM is about to start their IRONMAN contest in about 3 weeks so if he transfers w/in that time he will have the opportunity to compete for IRONMAN champion. A great honor at WM and if he does well he would definetly make an impact on the coaches.

IMO West Monroe is an extraordinarily insular, racist community.

Opinions VARY and I lived there for 34 years and you are completely WRONG! SO it is in one of the top 5 school systems in Louisiana and crime is low. Does that make it bad? Explain the "better" environments! Insular and racist? Well, when the community is 80 plus caucasion, I guess that is the general idea of those living outside of West Monroe from a VERY ignorant standpoint!

Seriously, thanks for the feedback. All she told me was what I posted. Ht./wt. and that he's been considered fast for his size, felt more comfortable as a LB, and that he loves weights. I gave her the general feedback from here, and encouraged her to try and meet with the coaches if they end up going over there househunting. (also included the part about the excellent S&C coach at WM.

thanks again!

WM is going to stacked at LB this year
Robert Lay, Kyle Pizzolato, Samer Magoub, Johnathon Tyson, Josh Zeigler
theres more talent at LB than TB IMO
Zeigler and Lay are already getting offers

Lay and Magoub are both safteys and according to a coach I spoke with they will be next year as well. Johnathan Tyson probably will not play next year (grades and character issues).

Zeigler and Pizzolato are about all that are for sure gonna be LB's next year. And Zeigler may even become a DB if he gets better footwork.

And Im guessing the kid would play fullback if he can hit the hole b/c WM will be hurting for a solid fullback this season.
