or players.

Then please DO NOT start threads or post opinions that are negative in nature.

This forum is designed to share factual information about players and their recruiting journey relative to LSU sports; it is not a forum to spew negative opinion about any players or persons, programs, coaches etc.

Building up others takes courage, this is welcome on this board.

Thanks you!

It is not a requirement that RB talk be all sunshine and rainbows. Like any other aspect of LSU football, people will have reasonable disagreements, and healthy debate is encouraged.

FTR, it is OK to discuss the relative talent of recruits, to debate needs versus wants, and to talk about other recruiting issues.

It is NOT OK to attack a recruit/player's appearance, character, family, or any other topic not within the realm of legitimate discussion. I realize there sometimes is a fine line between attitude and character, but most are smart enough to know it. On the other hand, many are dumb enough to ignore it.

I personally have suspended a number of RB posters in the past week for attacks on Liggins and Collins. There will be more if the inappropriate posts continue.

Whether or not you think what is said here has any effect on recruits, their families, coaches, and the process, these are the site rules and we will enforce them.

It is not up for debate.

What if the facts are negative?

I can only speak for myself, but I don't come here to see everyone's positive spin on the facts. I'm mostly here for the information and some occasional discussion. I definitely agree that the rule against insulting players and their families should be strictly enforced, but I completely disagree with the notion that we should strategically omit negative facts and/or subjectively put these facts in a positive light.

I also will add that a lot of inappropriate material goes unnoticed because people don't RA. Admins have been more active on this board so we're catching more.

TBH, the best way to bring it to our attention is to RA. When more than one person does it, it really gets noticed.

There always negatives and positives with every class. Pointing out failure to address depth at a specific position, for example. It's the posts that are nothing more that attack posts, or sophomoric rantard BS drivel that don't have a place here.

For sure. It's just that we stickied a thread that basically says "if you don't have something positive to say, don't say anything at all". I thought that was a little silly.

How does one get the job to decide what is allowed to be posted and what is not? Just curious. Who is responsible for responding to emails? When someone is suspended, how long do they lose posting priviledges? There are extremely vulgar and immature messages posted that go ignored. I have spoken to some that get randomly suspended without a reason why...And there is no response to email...Just a few q's i had...

Yea, it should state "if you're simply here to bash, don't post".

Admins are selected by the site owners.

Chicken.

It depends on the degree of the offense and frequency of the offender. There are no set guidelines.

Have you used the "Request Admin" button on a post? If not, you can't complain about them going unnoticed. Admins see all RA requests.

Some are fortunate to get a reason, others are not. Most know why without being told, though they might say otherwise.

Let me take a stab at your question/comments because it's on point.

I agree, we should be able to discuss something "negative" about a player if it's actually a fact rather than an opinion.

I'm mainly speaking to the heart or tone of the negativity on the board that doesn't add anything constructive. In part, we are dealing with a failure to understand the difference between what is fact and what is opinion or unsubstantiated information.

Example: If a Linebacker runs a 4.9 40, he would not be considered fast or have ideal speed. This would be factual data, provided the player's Data was recorded correctly. What if the information provided is simply incorrect, but posters run full speed ahead with the data? Have they not just slandered an individual in a public forum, albeit unintentional?

Opinion gets into talk such as "he is fat and slow and unworthy of a scholarship from LSU or any SEC team " etc etc...

I love having a healthy debate about practically anything...most message board folks do.

All I am trying to say is, lets's keep the dialogue (on this board) on a constructive path, conversation that adds some value to the audience.

TD is massively popular, in part because the admins allow a lot of "emotion" to be expressed.

And because TD is so far reaching, we should all the more handle our freedom of speech with great respect to the players and their families we talk about.
