Those two would give them 23. Only two more slots to give. I would think around December signing we would expect to see lil Nicky process some guys, which could shake a lot of things up. I hope we wind up getting two or three DL this class.

Sopsher is. Banks and Lee want to be. No sense in worrying about it. LSU just needs to keep winning and go out and find some studs out of state.

Banks is part of their number crunch. So is Lee. Both want in but don't have spots yet.

Saban would process his mother so worrying about them filling up is a waste of time.

I thought the hard cap was set at 25, can someone explain how they are able to hit 28?

Exactly. Alabama already has an advantage based on the current state of it's program. Add in the fact that they have more resources than just about any program and are clearly getting away with a lot of cheating, there is no way LSU can beat them at their own game. LSU is going to have to find a way to pull in a couple more out of state kids to compensate for the couple Bama is going to buy each year and find a way to beat them on the field with lower ranked recruiting classes if the balance is ever going to get shifted.

They only signed 22 players last year and I believe 1 of them had to go JUCO. They’re able to sign an extra 3 players this year since they didn’t hit the 25 cap last recruiting cycle.

Bama can sign 28 because they only signed 22 last year. They also are processing 2-3. It seems a given the DL Cheney is one of them.

I'm willing to bet that at least three of their current commits are EEs too, so that's a done deal.

You think Alabama isn't going to be able to find 3 EEs?

Also, someone on the SEC recruiting page is saying that they might have had an unfilled spot in their 2017 class, which would let them take 29 this year. I don't think this is likely, but I guess it's a possibility.

So can LSU sign 28 since they only signed 22?

No. We signed 22 high school recruits and used our remaining three spots on grad transfers (Cole Tracy, Joe Burrow, and Terrance Alexander).

Similarly, in 2017 we only signed 22 high school recruits and took transfers from Breiden Feheko, Jonathon Giles and Thad Moss.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to say here, but Tracy & Alexander absolutely counted as 2018 initial counters for LSU.
