Hell even TCU has outworked LSU on the I-20 corridor the last few years. They have 4 Monroe area guys on the team

I'm not sure this is fair. I'm not disputing the fact LSU and Stud did a poor job up there, but who from that area that went to TCU had LSU offers? I only see one guy from Monroe the last 3 classes and 2 from 2012, all 3 stars. Maybe they are good players that we missed on, but missing on a guys =/= being out recruited.

How many 3 stars did LSU sign during that period? Missing on guys is indeed being out recruited because you didn't do your due diligence. Looking at LSU's woes on the DL, I'd say every single WM kid was a miss except Osborne at WR. All 3 were instrumental on TCU's defense last year. 2 of them will be instrumental again this year. All 3 were 3 year lettermen. McFarland was the MVP of the Peach Bowl. Turpin was the best player in the area by far last year.

The area has been ignored for a while. O and Peveto are starting to turn that around now. Hopefully that will pay off this year with Cam and Lawrence.

-Alabama is investing money recruiting the area

though bagman. LSU grads should boycot the frick out out of those BS bama car dealers in Monroe. How about planting some stories about them closet KKK or something. The national dealership really frown on shite like this and have pulled dealership for less.

Hardly any liked lsu, they said lsu was boring. Most kids also thought that lsu was just a white school that was racist. And no blacks went there other than a few athletes

funny because LSU has the highest # of black students in the SEC

It has nothing to do with NE La being different. Most here are LSU and saints fans. Bama flat outworked LSU in the area and planted several "handlers". The schools are really not that apart travel wise. Add their on the field success vs LSU and there you are.

They are leaches who prey on good players. They latch onto them at a young age and become "mentors" and do their best to steer the players to certain programs, getting paid by boosters in the process.

"Father" figure types that run "camps" etc and befriend elite athletes and their mothers. They help the kid through the recruitment process and direct them to the highest bidder or to the school that's steadily paying the handler.

I think the rise in camps, social media, 7 on 7 tourneys have given kids much more exposure to regional areas and more comfortable away from 'home'. Bama is reaping the benefit of being the dominant program..if Oregon was in Arkansas we would be getting tons of heat from them too.

Kids are not worried about being a couple hours further away from home, the program and facilities are top notch, they have three natl champs recently, and Nick Saban and a group of really good recruiters are on staff there. I don't see it as a great mystery.

I'm sorry, but this is an impossible standard not to mention pure 20/20 hindsight. There is literally no way anyone can hit on all recruits and never "miss" on lower rated prospects. For the 2016 class 247 has roughly 70 players in Louisiana rated as 3 stars. Last year it was over 80, the year before around 60 and please note, that's just 3*'s, you have another 15-20 4 and 5 stars so in excess of 90 players JUST in the state. You can only sign 25, and do need some out of state guys to compete at a high level. It is simply not possible to get all those kids. Someone is going to slip thru.

Whatever issues LSU has had in NLA, specifically Monroe they have still managed to sign top 5 classes the last 2 years and a top 8 class in 2013. So overall they are doing an outstanding job of both evaluations and recruiting. I am glad changes have been made in recruiting Monroe and hopefully they will get better results up there.

ETA: It is worth noting about TCU that they have also signed a number of players from South Louisiana as well. It is easy to note the handful of 3* guys that we lost that panned out somewhere else, but easy to overlook the majority that do not.
