Some of you are fricking ridiculous with your melts.
Show me in my post where i said anything about "wants".

This year we NEEDED DL, he had them in spades and took another from our backyard just for kicks.

Last year we NEEDED CBs, he made sure we didn't get them.

That's just truth, no melt

Of course but he can only take 25. The we got everyone but is very reminiscent of the DiNardo days. We got everyone but Ed Reed...we got everyone but Reggie Wayne... Getting everyone was what separates the 2001, 2009 classes that competed for championships

Well he didn’t sign one player at any position ranked higher than Derek Stingley.

He didn’t sign one offensive guard ranked higher than Thomas.

He didn’t sign one WR ranked higher than Palmer

He signed the #1 RB and we got #2 and #8. His second RB was 15.

He didn’t need the last three did he?

He already had Sanders. Maybe there’s a bigger push if there is no Sanders?

He still gets one of the top 3 players in this state it seems when it matters a lot.

I really don’t care, the only ones that bother me were Cam Robinson and Landon Collins.

I was so glad when Hootie Jones went there, he did not impress me and I thought Adams was the best safety in that class.

People do realize Lawrence and Fehoko are still here and buying us another year right?

Not to mention LSU signed every 4* DL from Louisiana in 2018. I hate when I see people dismissing the last two DL hauls when they were freshmen and sophomores this past season. Give them a chance and you just be pleasantly surprised.

This is a bad thread if you truly follow recruiting, bama wanted maybe 4 guys in Louisiana this cycle they got 2. One of those two we didn’t recruit. They wanted stingley, didn’t get him. Thomas they showed early interest but once he committed they moved on and didn’t try and flip him so kinda tells me they weren’t that interested. The rest of the guys they were never really linked to bc they weren’t pursuing them. Lee prolly ends up at bama if they give him a committable offer but like Palmer they never pursued bc wr wasn’t a big need for them, emery they had sanders and so never pursued emery.

You’re a fricking clown. They signed a RB ranked lower than Emery and Davis. They didn’t sign any OG ranked as high as Thomas.

I assume it’s more for appearances... lost too much in state top tier talent to Saban (Collins, cam, Moses )... he was supposed to be able to lock down DL talent.

I think Sophser is overrated as frick and lazy as shite, but it still would’ve been nice to sign him

why is everyone sweating this bubble butt? He was downgraded. Its one thing to be overrated but when someone says "we were wrong, you are not as good as we thought"......thats a problem

Sure he did. But Saban puts his effort in on linemen and skilled difference-makers primarily. We beat him for Thomas and Stingly; he beat us for Sopsher; and none of the others matter much to him. Emery? Saban might have taken him, but he won’t miss him.

Saban was at Stingley's ring ceremony, and also told Thomas 'I will flip you.'

There's no doubt he wanted them.

Sopsher is but one....player. Yeah- we wanted him. But those claiming this class is disappointing because we missed on HIM are nuts.

Alright basketball nerd, Have you ever thought the guard they signed they ranked higher than Thomas, if they wanted Thomas why did they stop contact with him once he committed while they tried everything they could to get back in with stingley. Kind of says they weren’t that interested in Thomas. And they signed a rb that was rated higher than emery and Davis. You can say spew nonsense and believe. but bama wasn’t recruiting those guys before they committed and after they still showed zero interest. You know coaches have their own boards and liked that number 15 more than Davis and they liked sanders more than emery.

And ps I’m not here saying the recruiting was bad, I think it’s bad from an optic standpoint that our second biggest need was dline(especially de) and our head coach who is known for his recruiting and being a dline coach has basically failed recruiting this position in three years. And signed exactly zero de that is not a god visual. Now we have guys coming back next so next year is fine but the following year you will be depending on unproven freshmen bc next year dline signing class will be thrown to the wolves once they step foot on campus and that is worrisome. And it’s good for us that the state will have some really good dlinemen in the state next year and we already have 2/3 committed. Just need to hit the national scene hard

Yes until I saw the sites say Thomas is the better player.

It was just a huge one to miss on. We need DL. But no one should be shocked he picked Bama...the guy chose to attend Mizzou/Bama over LSU/UGA. That said it all.

But I don't know why we couldn't get any others...that's a problem. Playing DL at LSU for Coach O (with our depth chart) seems like a no brainer to me, but I am biased.
