I like Drew Sanders as an inside linebacker...

...and that's what I'd really like to see Kelly go after him as.

I know they have him penciled in as an edge rusher, and he certainly has the skills to do that. But what LSU needs in the worst way is a guy who can do what Damone Clark did, and Sanders' tape in high school and in his limited time on the field at Alabama shows he's got a good bit of Clark's profile in him.

Which is not to say you can't move him around and rush him from the edge when you want to.

Sanders' tape shows that he played a good bit of inside linebacker in high school and if I remember his recruitment, he was recruited by at least a couple of his top 5 as an inside linebacker.

I don't think we're as hard up for edge rushers as we are for linebackers. We have some future edge guys in Philip Webb, Zavier Carter, Savion Jones and Quency Wiggins. What we need badly is two inside linebackers from the portal who can come in and contribute immediately.

I'd give Sanders a shot at being one of them. Get him and this Weeks guy and you might be good at linebacker for now (add a freshman to go with them and you're definitely out of trouble).
