re: I get the feeling BK does not give the effort that O did in recruiting and it shows

I have always considered LSU’s recruiting class ranking to reflect the state’s current football talent… If the state of Louisiana is loaded, LSU has a top five recruiting class. If the state of Louisiana has mediocre talent, our LSU Tigers’ recruiting ranking will only be top twenty

Since 2010 LSU has averaged 9.2 3 stars in each class. This class currently has 9. This is about where LSU typically finishes including O and Les.
Since 2002 LSU has signed 42 5 stars. Of those 42, 28 have been from Louisiana. 14 from out of state. If La doesn't have 5 stars then there is a 66% chance we won't sign one. This year we have 1. He hasn't signed any where yet.
Of the 42 5 stars 12 quit, transferred, or were kicked off the team.
As one poster states: on the macro stars matter, on the micro they don't.

Where the frick does Chicken find you guys? Everything you said is just plain false on so many levels.
You fricktards pop onto the recruiting board around nsd to see how many 5 stars LSU lands without any research as to LSU's needs. Or you never watch any highlights and you think you know who the good players are because of their ranking.
Go away.

There's takes, then there's bad takes, then there's shite like you posted. Go back to the rant.

Yeah look at all the “high stars” that slap dick recruited. Outside of maybe 5-7 per class the rest were trash.

BK also just needs to add some raw numbers to the roster, too. So lost in all of this is the good news that we got 27 players signed. That is a step in the right direction.

I think you have to consider the two coaching philosophies here. One, Coach O, not known to be a developer of talent, relies solely on the athletes ability to help and contribute right now. His skill set needs to be so good that he can step in and contribute right away. This player may or may not get better over the course of a college career. This is solely dependent on the kid and his position coach.
Kelly, on the other hand, has a vision, thinks more strategically. He knows his system, and he knows what type of kid fits into this system. It may not be the flashy, egotistical type right out of high school. He knows that if the kid checks a few boxes, that he can be developed in 1 year to be a contributor.
Now, if the very best player, the #1 ranked kid fits his mold and projects to work well in his system, then I'm sure Kelly is the type to go all in on a kid like that.
Wasting capital, time, and energy on a kid that is a stud, but doesn't fit in your system is an exercise of futility.

Roaring unintelligible BS and losing signees to attrition and benign neglect, is definitely not Kelly’s style. Orgeron’s true colors have appeared and LEFT LSUFB, hallelujah..

Orgeron was the most OVERRATED coach for recruiting I have ever seen. IF you want to believe in the services star system that is fine. But what those serviceds and Orgeron seem to totally ignore is NEED. Orgeron at LSU did what Texas used to do. Sign the highest rated guys at ANY position and run up the team ranking. Oh, but if you end up with 2 or 3 OL in the class, who cares. Oh, and if you end up playing WR as CB against Central Florida in a bowl game who cares? After all, did you see our recruiting class rankings!
