I’ll remain hopeful, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get him

Something smells here. Guy’s not gonna end up with SCAR. The melt will be glorious.

It’s not one we usually win. But it is one that you have to stay on top of if you’re O. Burch is probably the top recruit on our board. The door is open. I know we are going to try hard as hell as we should.

I think being in the Natty will allow me to hold my breath a little bit.

Five-star DL Jordan Burch committed to the #Gamecocks but didn’t sign.

This is bullshite. "Committing" is what you do before you are allowed to sign a letter of intent. If you can sign and haven't, where is the commitment in that. Call it something else but it's not a commitment.
Exactly. Let's try the 'shoe on other foot test' to read some tea leaves here...

Kid from Rummel commits late, on early signing date no less, to us but says he still might take visits and is absolutely not ready to sign an LOI despite earlier saying he was indeed going to decide and sign on ESD.

We would assume that commitment was either to please someone else, or was to keep locals off his back.

It might not be LSU (UGA?), but I have serious doubts it is going to be USCjr after that.

Why commit early and not sign but is still open to taking visits? IMO he isn't committed. People talk trash the way Clemson conducts business but looking at this mess I agree with them.

Burt has unlikely to sign & play too far from home.

I bet he never signs a letter of intent but still shows up at South Carolina and just plays. He is going to SC case closed

Yea, I think the family has already been made promises, so this is probably all a shut and closed case...

Well actually if he didn’t sign an LOI but was truly planning on attending SCar then him not signing is a good thing. Coaches can continue contacting a recruit unless he did sign.

He is gonna sign an LOI, because the team he picks the coach will force him to sign it watch and see. And the reason the coach will force him to that, is exactly for the reason listed above!

The guy said he and his mom are on the same page with him going to SC. He also said he's not responding to LSU or any other coaches still recruiting him. Unless he's flat out lying, he's going to SC.

Likely got paid by SC and is now thinking "What can they really do if I go somewhere else?"

Burch is a good kid. He hasn't played games at all with his recruitment. In fact, he was probably one of the hardest recruits to read because nobody had a real clue what he was doing until a few weeks up until his announcement. Even then USCe was nervous.

It's a situation of family pulling him one way but his heart wanting to go the other. He did this to satisfy them. Distance is always the biggest hurdle to overcome with OOS recruits. He might still end up there. Shouldn't be difficult to sell family to let him go. Whoever can do that will be the ones to win.
