How much do you care about landing Lamar Brown in this year’s class?

It’s been an LSU/A&M battle but now Texas is entering the ring. I ask this because of Lance Heard and how some folks felt about him recruitment as can’t miss. Then we see he wanted to play immediately. I believe the last interview I heard Lamar was going to play DL .

I admit that I haven’t watched film and am more jaded these days, but I get the feeling he is a smidge overrated? Or is that me just speculating with U High prospects in general

At this point, A&M is the competition.

In my opinion, they need to lock him up, specially being in ur backyard, but wouldn’t be first to leave BR so it wouldn’t shock me anymore

I care because he is an impact player in an area that has been weak recently. These are the types of players that you need to land to get back to the elite level. He seems to really enjoy the process so we’ll see where his head is after final bids and promises. I definitely care though.

I care because I am a fan and he is from Louisiana and he could do really well here on either side of the ball.

Whoever throws the biggest bag at this kid is the competition. That’s what recruiting is now for the top recruits.

At this point until he schedules his visit to Austin. Price just went up.

So you expect him to be a day one starter on the defensive line? Or you think he will get reps like McKinley?

Leads to how I will approach the next thread. We went all out in the portal after being told we would build from highschool…

Of course we want him. No doubt he can be successful and may be awesome.

But how many of these kids have we lost from Louisiana and really missed from a football standpoint in the last 4 years? I feel like more and more these south LA kids who use LSU and will go highest bidder no matter what have either sucked or it is TBD. I mean…I guess Derek Williams?

So I would love to have him, but won’t lose any sleep over him. Losing Bryce Underwood was catastrophic, and because that happened, we are able to have our best team in years. Imagine if Underwood comes here how many transfer guys we don’t get…

I’ve heard he wants to play DE as of late and I’m not sure he’s a can’t miss prospect if he’s playing DE. The kid is clearly better at Oline at this point in his career and if we were recruiting him as an OG I’d say he was can’t miss. Think he’s doing a disservice to himself by playing D-line over O-line at the next level.

He’s your typical U High recruit who CANT WAIT to let everyone know how interested he is with out of state programs.

The second he gets a DM from a coach outside of LSU, he lets you know about it. I generally don’t trust those kids.

With that said. Of course we want him on this team.

The schools know how to play this game too. If I am UT or aTm and I suspect Brown would choose LSU straight up over any other school then I would make you work for it and make you spend as much money as I can. And who knows, might get lucky because he is a take and they have nothing to lose doing it.

Could very well be the case, for now. I believe that to be the case as well. End of the day, when the big offers come in at the end, anybody can win out. Look what Texas did to Georgia for Justus Terry. Publicly, admittedly and proudly moneywhipped him in the final hour. Kid was all set to commit to UGA as expected. If we'd have ponied up we could've gotten Stewart as well. We wisely didn't and Brown is better. Either side of the ball.

I always care about lineman and QBs from LA. The other positions grow on trees in the state. It’s hard to replace those. But thanks to NIL I still can’t give a damn these days until the play game 1 and even then you can’t get invested because your starter can bolt to a another school trying to buy a title. Just ask bama and ole miss about Ohio state

That’s what everyone is saying. But how are you going to feel year two when he leaves because he’s not starting?
