I just don't see where this guy is going to play for LSU. Linebacker? He'll be one of 5 players in the class, and the only one who didn't play the position in high school. Defensive end? He's 220 pounds right now.
This is a bit of a head-scratching decision, but it seemed inevitable that it would occur.

He definitely looks too small for DE, but he looks like he has a good build for a mike linebacker and he definitely has the athleticism for that position too.
That's where I'd put him. I guess FB/H-back would be a good fit after he bulks up too.

Yea, hes pretty much depth and can play multiple positions.. You need guys like that.. Cant have a roster full of 5*s and keep them happy.

That time was at the same Combine Trovon ran a 4.59 at. Plus it was a similar time to Hillard and Hill. So I would take a 1/10 off that time, unless you really think that Trovon Reed runs a 4.6.
So Bates runs well for a kid his size.

He'll be a guy in the locker room thats happy with his role and being on the team.. He wont be a distraction or prolly ever have a negative attitude..
Def happy for him.. Id love that opportunity, shite Id love to just workout with the football team.

HOW GOOD IS THIS KID?
He looks like a pretty doggone good high school player to me. Despite his size, there are plays of him doing very well against Chris Faulk in the running game and making plays.
I don't know how well he'll translate to college. But his measurables are actually very good.

This was only a matter of time after his offer.

UGA had a white wide receiver commit to them yesterday. I couldn't imagine the meltdown on here if that happened with LSU.

Glad he is representing SPS. I believe Stephen Parker (Arkansas) and Nilo Sylvan (Tennessee) were the last St. Paul's guys in the SEC.
Won't be a superstar but all teams need a player like this.

He's roughly the same size and type of athlete Kirston Pittman was at the same age and he dern sure turned out to be a player.
Welcome aboard Houston.

Nope. Kirston was a freak before the knee injuries.
