Get the middle men out of this process and let Hootie and the relevant coaches sit down and discuss his football future. Let Hootie take the information, mull over the information and make his own decision.

Let the middle men get out of the process. This should be his decision with the approval of his parents.

because we believe he will be an impact safety. Plus he is a position of great need.

I am sure he and Freeze will do that in the near future.

I was happy we moved on, I wish him the best, but obviously he is moving down, down, down on folks wish lists.

This is ridiculous. Hootie was an absolute take for 3 years now we've moved on when it looks to be ours for the taking? And don't give me the Adams argument, they don't play the same position. I can't believe we aren't all over this kid. I don't know maybe it's just me fellas.

Hootie and Diarse friends? If the friend connection to Bama wasn't enough to hold it together, maybe Diarse will influence decision

Why? Isn't Mississippi loaded with talent? You all don't need LSUs non-takes. Freeze is a beast and can sell 7-5 records like nobody's business.

I think the Chris Rock "a man is only as faithful as his options" theory applied here. A better option came along diminishing the need for Hootie. They have out in a lot of work to get into a great position with Jamal Adams and it seems to be their thinking that they aren't going to throw that away for Hootie.

Will they revisit Hootie later? Probably. Hell it may depend on how the current commits feel. LSU is extremely high on their safety class with Adams, Voohries and Battle.

This isn't an issue of LSU passing on him. This is an issue of Hootie not being able to decide which school to attend/play for. Seems right now he's commiting to/for friends, not himself or the school.

yep. from LSU's side that's it. He's most definitely a take... conditional it doesn't interfere with other recruits, or some specific recruits. And it's not all about Adams as you pointed out. Voorhies, Paris, and Battle are factors. I don't mean they'll decommit, but as far as where they will play and where they want to play they could be factors in all this.

And who's to say the conversation didn't go like:
Hootie: I decommitted, I need more time
LSU: take all the time you need, we've got some stuff to sort out too. <-- what HollierThanThou is saying.

You are very Gumplike if you think posters here make the decisions about high profile or any recruits for that matter

Judging from his wish list he is extremely Gump-like.

There's more to this story that's out there IMO.

It appears obvious to me that BAma AND LSU have both cooled on Hootie. For whatever reason(s), his stock has plummeted in the eyes of those two programs. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure seems to be the case.

Not to go off topic, but if you're gonna have Malachi on your "wishlist" can you at least spell his name correctly?

half the people of this board say hootie should pick up the phone and call LSU but he didn't. half the people say LSU orchestrated the PP7 tweet to hootie showing that LSU is still interested in hootie (no direct call either). both sides are feeling the situation out and both are unclear of the next move. don't knock a 17 year old kid unless you knock 40 and 50 ear old guys.
