#1 Goal should be "Recruit the Boot!"
Keep Our Best Players Home

ie: Dak Prescott, at least maybe SEC or NCAA championship with him!

I agree with you and I think it is.

LA produces so much top-shelf talent we're simply going to miss out on some. Some will go on to other schools, get on the field early, find their place, and we'll wonder how come we didn't sign them. It's going to happen.

You're not arguing to "recruit the boot". You're arguing to go back in time and recruit the guys who panned out.

And the number one goal should not be to recruit the boot. It should be to recruit the best players. Humans have a strong tendency to look for secondary, complex algorithms for simpler things. Examples:

"Teams should not be in the championship if they didn't win their conference." As a substitute for the simpler, "The two best teams will be selected."

"Planetary movements are interspersed with epi-cycles." As a substitute for the simpler solar system.

Communism for the simpler capitalism.

"Our focus should be to recruit the boot." Instead of the simpler, "Our focus should be to recruit the best."

Or we could have taken Colt McCoy over Perrilloux....

Don't get me wrong Perrilloux was they right choice at the time and I think he would have been great, but he really screwed us at the QB position.

Dak would not have mimicked what he did at State had he come to LSU. I don't understand why some people don't get that.

I believe that is a distinct possibility he wouldn't have because of lack or development or opportunity. He was developed at MSU and given the opportunity to be a dynamic QB. I don't believe that would have happened at LSU under Miles.

Yeah, LSU really messed up when they took Jamal Adams instead of Hootie Jones.

Dak wouldve made a big difference at LSU. We missed on him, plain and simple.
It happens. Recruiting or drafting QBs is a crap shoot.

This is another beating the dead horse thread. Dak was borderline Lsu quality out of high school at best, and wouldn't have been qb here especially so early in his career. We can't get them all.
