OK guys, I'm asking for some collective effort here. Lol

I'm really excited about the Emery commitment.ive noticed over the years that the running backs that are 5 star guys seem to be a sure thing, more so then other positions.

Now if I'm being a jinx or something, then I'm sorry. I just wanted some peoples opinions of how much of a sure thing is this guy?.. I just think its something to discuss. how good can this guy be?

Who's seen him in person? How does he compare to fournette?

Over the past few years, how many of the 5*rbs have been considered "a hit". That's what I needed help with.

How about you go to 24/7, get a list of recent 5* RBs over past 4-5 years, then google their stats and let us know?

Why are you asking us to do your work?

Going back to the class of 2008, 13 of 23 5* RBs were not drafted. Worth noting several UDFA's made rosters.
(using 247)

Roc Thomas
Michael Dyer
Keith Ford
Thomas Tyner (retired in college- medical)
Derrick Green
Darrell Scott
Jermie Calhoun
Richard Samuel
Johnathan Gray
Rushel Shell
Mario Pender
Savon Huggins
Brandon Williams (not to be confused with CB)
Malcolm Brown

* Damien Harris left out of both sides of numbers

Derrius Guice was a five star. He and 4-star Darrell Williams were in the same 2015 class.

I think it shows that the recruiting sites are alot ot better then they used to be at evaluation and access is easier. Social media too helps

RB is also one of the easiest positions to evaluate coming out of high school. Not to say Emery is a sure thing, every college player has to put in the work to be successful, but his floor is significantly higher than a guy like Sopsher.

In Leonard Fournette's year, it might have been the best class of RBs ever. During that recruiting year, anybody with sense knew those 5 star backs were going to be money.

Leonard Fournette
Dalvin Cook
Joe Mixon
Sony Michel
Roc Thomas
Nick Chubb
Royce Freeman
Christian McCaffrey

The first six were 5 stars and the next two also had school record breaking careers. Now Roc Thomas never lived up to reputation, but the rest will go down in their schools' history.

Dyer had back to back 1000 yard seasons, but screwed himself.

Ford was decent throughout his college career, but nothing better than that.

Thomas Tyner was good, but yeah the injury ended his career. This was the guy who became famous for rushing for 600 yards and 10 TDs in a high school game on his birthday.

Derrick Green was just hella overrated. Him and the guy who went to Notre Dame that same year, who is sadly no longer with us.

Gray was average at best, and I also thought he was overrated coming out of high school (had zero physical traits that set him apart).

Shell was average his entire career

Brown was average his entire career

Jonathon Gray at the time was considered to be the greatest High School RB ever. He’s probably the biggest bust in college football history. He had 80 touchdowns or something ridiculous in his senior season alone.
